In my mind I still feel like 2000 was just a few years ago. So many "unprecedented" events since 1999 have distorted my perception of time I guess.

I have a 2000 911 and not once did I ever think of it as old or antique status until the guy at the e-check place said during this years registration test, "congratulations, no more testing ever for this one!"

I'm so tempted https://www.facebook.com/share/1AF6prE4Wk/ I know that m27 is a huge fan, what does the hive mind think of these? Can they handle big miles at 22 years old?

My touristy town does not have any car rental companies. I am thinking of getting a car to put on turo. Personally I would get a model 3, but people seem to hate them. Any advice on what car to get?

Must be. 25 years seems to be the norm from a quick google. 25 years is also the age a car has to be to import it without having to comply with federal standards.

It’s still so bizarre to me that 2000 was 25 years ago. Time isn’t real.

30 years here in Washington. No requirement for tab decals, or even a front plate. And if you have an original plate in good condition from the year of manufacture, you're allowed to run that back and front in lieu of the collector plate.

If you run standard plates how do you avoid parking tickets?

Bmills yeah I have two vintage rigs and one new, seems outlandish that they are a quarter century old for sure. Collector plates would be nice but not for a while I guess. Poignant, as one I've kept running and plated while I let one sit and lapse. Getting it reinstated is going to be a chore for sure. Considering selling just to avoid. This would have been a welcome loophole.

Look, I'd be lying if I said I didn't want this time capsule of a Land Cruiser, but HFS, $179,500 asking price?!?

Ok tech bros (check seller name), good luck with the sale.

That Kalmar Canepa is gorgeous, even if I am partial to the Whale Tails.

And who has one Vector laying around, let alone two??

When we lived in town in Santa Cruz, Canepa's original shop was an old dealership next to the hippie market we shopped at. Every couple of days I'd walk down to do a shop, and then go over and stare in the front window at the cars. I'd be lying if I said I didn't pitch a tent looking at the Gulf-Porsche 917 and Rothmans 962. Meanwhile, thousands of people would be passing by without looking and I'd be like, what the fuck, do you people know what's in here??

I actually applied for a job there, never heard back from them. LOL would they do with some wood butcher off the street?

I look forward to the day when I can walk into a shop like that (or the PEC here in ATL for me personally) and say, "I'm here, give me a job. I don't care what, I just want to be here surrounded by all this cool shit."

That's what I said to Wayne Carini when he was giving me the tour of F40. When we walked into his back room I about passed out, he laughed and said 'Sorry you failed the test, you're not hired'. It was pretty funny.

Seems like 10 years ago when Bobby posted here, much less gave out free Carfaxes.

Man, I really hate seeing this place slowly fade away.

That's what happens when hate is openly displayed, repeatedly towards individuals instead of just hating their opinions. Running off basically good people (perhaps w perceived flaws or opinions that weren't universally shared) is not a good look for TGR or society at large.

*sigh* Yeah. The level of activity is down so far that this place doesn't occupy my time as well as it used to making me feel obligated to go to inferior social media sites and that sux. More of us need to go join the powder zone group on Fb.

Somewhere, Benny Profane is shaking is fist angrily at the screen saying "I TOLD YOU ALL SO!", startling the poor old woman sitting next to him at the Greenwich Starbucks.
