Is the Atomic remedy what it looks like? So a "allmountain" version of a Redster Ti/CS?
similar to 110. 178, 184, 190/191.
I tried on the Remedy 130 at the show the other day, it's basically a direct replacement for the redster CS. Overall pretty stoked as I've been riding the redster CS the last 4 seasons, and the fit seems to be extremely similar with maybe the slightest bit of extra toebox room.
Also really impressed by the fit of the new K2 Cortex, might have to try those next year as well. Love that brands are bringing in heavier boots for hard charging that aren't full on race boots. I never understood what everyone saw in using hybrid boots for every day skiing, those things have zero dampening or a real stiff flex.
Is the Cuff diameter on the new Atomic remedy 130 still going to continue the Atomic tradition of being best in class for those with non-existent calves? Hopefully not getting bigger.
Also do we have a forward lean spec?
cough cough @onenerdykid
I was in my local shop ths morning when the new K2 double boa boots showed up. I tried on the LV model quick (last 96-98mm) and they snuggled my foot like i've never felt on first try. They were stiff as f*$k too, a true 130. A little harder to get into since you can't spread out the bottom part of the shell as wide as a buckle boot. Really nice to use the boa to wrap the boot around you. I'm down to go back in and give them a deeper look. Dalbello double boa also in there. MV. Nice boot, looks very similar to K2, I guess they're owned by same company and made in same factory?
So 25/26 is going to be a big year for us, lots of new boots being launched. We will launch a whole new Redster campaign in early February (skis & boots), and I will not be talking about anything “Redster” until then. But Remedy is now on the table, and I will answer some questions about it.
Coming out of our new Redster race program is a boot that our Freeride World Tour & freestyle skiers alike have been wanting for a long time. This is the Remedy 130 – born directly of Redster DNA, but purposefully built for our athletes. It was originally supposed to be a very limited edition boot, but rather than do that, it will be widely available next autumn. The color is officially called Butter, and it really looks like butter in person haha. All new mold construction, all new last with ample big toe shaping and toe space in general. It’s a “comfy” 96mm last if such a thing exists, and I know that anyone who currently has a CS will love it. It comes equipped with a ShockStopper boot board & liner spoiler and a generously treaded GripWalk sole (5355 soles will be available separately for anyone with race bindings). Lastly, it utilizes a more temperature stable PU that offers a much more consistent and predictable feel across a wide variety of temperatures. There is A LOT more to talk about, but anything more than that will spill too many of the secret beans from our Redster launch in February.

Head will have boa boots including a double boa. No boa in the raptor yet though.
Those Lange cable buckle boots look super interesting
Doublefuckingboaaaaassss

They are low cost versions of the boa boots. They offer a similar closure and feel but lack the adjustment and also ease of use and durability. It will be interesting to see if more low cost systems like this show up. We have considered a few things but for now we will continue to use buckles on the lower cost boots
industry is sad right now,
all this talk of boa wrapping is just the unique feeling of smooth, incremental tightening. the end state attempts to be the same but ends up weaker than buckles.
the amount of spinning required to close a cuff boa is comical. Nordica developed a special drill to save assembly workers the torture.
five years and it’ll be HV only and back to where we started.
Double boa boots are ugly as fuck. Remind me of roller blades.
Boot product manager dudes, how many years out from all boots being double boa rear entry boots? I feel like this is the inevitable conclusion here.
double boa won’t be everywhere at least not until we can produce a system suitable for the hv/comfort market.
Think of it this way Zipfit liners are way slower and way harder to put on. So if speed and ease of use was all people cared about no one at all would use them. But that is not what people want or at least some people. People understand the performance benefits a liner like a zipfit offer and are willing to put up with its shortcomings. Boa cuff is similar in that it is slower to use and frankly not as easy as buckles. But in the same way sulfites offer a performance advantage boa cuff does too.
But just as we would never stock a zipfit liner in a comfort boot neither will we put a boa cuff on a comfort boot, it just is not right for the target consumer.
Over the next few seasons you will see boa settle into the products and applications where it makes the most sense. New solutions will evolve to offer similar fit characteristics with either a lower price point, like we are already seeing from Lange and Salomon, or ease of use improvements.
I think the next 3-4 seasons will be really interesting in ski boots as everything shakes out and we get back to some sense of normalcy.
