Thanks for the clarification. Saw all the shots of the upper boa under the race suits and assumed that if their training in them, they'd racing them too.

I've been duly impressed by the Boa products I've tried, whether it was simply trying them on or using them for more than a decade.
it’s honestly hilarious when people talk about the durability of alpine boa. As if boa and all these ski boot companies just pumped out a product and threw it on a boot and started selling it saying “let’s see what happens”. Alpine boa was literally tested for years with hard use for durability and by all accounts its been stronger than buckles in those tests, easier to repair and cheaper to repair.

Also, though, does that Remedy come in anything besides butter?
when Eddy Vedder wrote " I wish I was the full moon shining off your Camaro's hood " it was not one of these new colors

I mean " Butter " for a happening ski boot give me a break, a lot of the new ski boots look like they come already puked on

I looked at " new " colors ordering a truck and I had to go white, we should just make ALL ski boots white OR why have a color at all my Dalbellos are clear ?

What does this have to do with BOA? Also, you should be able to ski varied terrain with your boots undone. Standard training.

I mean if tom is saying they gave the athletes 4 buckle and boa boots to choose from and they chose the boa, I don't really think that's Tom's fault.

I for one am never super happy with any ski boots I have so am all for something new. I frickin love the boa systems I've had on touring boot lowers so it's hard for me to see how they'll suck on the cuffs.

    Since we are arguing semantics...
Are you referring to only Atomic? Or are you saying that you are certain that a double BOA has not been used by any of the other manufactures' athletes in a WC race?

When did the ski industry engage with TGR in the past? Matt, Tom and Marshal are exceptions; willing to take the time online to share what they know. Fede Sbrissa used to consider it part of his job. There are others who lurk more or less daily but never post, but the number has remained pretty constant over the years.

it’s been pretty well documented that no brands have used double boa in actual competition runs. Head was testing them a bunch in practice runs and pictures were showing up. But come comp time they all had switched back to buckles.

I’m not smart enough to know if I love or hate BOA, but is it possible for a peasant like me to get one of those limited edition magenta langes? Who is the JP distributor?

Regardless— stoked on the tech toes and no walk mode stuff coming out. Might be enough to let the Lange fantasy go.

Only fear I can imagine from BOA is slack each run and long-term longevity.

That atomic butter is sexy as fuck, too.

    We’ll see what fits.

Props to Tom and Matt for putting up with our bullshit and making good gear. I am in the camp that the butter boot is ugly but tempted anyway for a stiffer atomic fit boot. Also want to try the cortex’s. Boa sounds like it might have benefits, light boots for inbound not so much.

No it isn’t. Don’t say dumb shit like that. Boa is a closure system. Leave it at that. The fact that atomic and k2 are both coming out with thick ass PU low volume freeride boots in a time where so many companies just want to cater to mass appeal, that is the biggest development for next year. These are bad ass boots made for us. That is fucking hype. And some are putting tech inserts in non walk mode boots for the even fewer weirdos out there. Don’t worry about boa.

"sold out" or never shipped? 2 different things there. We got none that we ordered and the store they told us did get some did not either.

    25/26 gear rumors thread

We all know there are clear benefits of coils vs air shocks on bikes.

Let’s make next year all about coils on boots.

The TX Pro was the best selling boot at my shop this year by a solid margin. Did shops in canada not receive their orders? That sucks, but the exchange rate does too.
