If I had zipfits and couldn't quite tell if my boots were fully buckled like someone said earlier here, I think I'd be open to double boa. I had a friend who didn't buckle his boots for a whole season, his Zipfits were too tight, ha. That's extreme tho of course but NOTHING like my boot setup with 130 Krypton pros and Intuition liners that are painfully tight.

I've trained plenty with boots undone on varied terrain at Brideger bowl, you don't have to explain that.

I think he means the liner is doing most of the work and isn’t dependent on a shell being 100% dialed. In those situations, we might like a BOA.

    I think I get it.

I’m the same way now in my Lange RS130/Intuition Pro Tongue. The liner is dense and stiff as fuck. I’ve forgotten to tighten my buckles before the first run a few mornings and just said fuck it, and just skied them on their next-to-tightest setting down to the chair. Not preferred, but easily doable.

But that was also non-risk terrain with hero snow. So… YMMV and all that.

Freshly sharpened? Everyone knows the Pinnacle of ski design and performance can't be dulled. They smoke rocks faster than a hobo on a city street corner.

Dude— I just saw a pair of these with a snowboard carver dude under the flood lights. His bindings were four inches tall. With inches of visible light underneath his foot.

    Holy shit.

Any new interesting touring gear? Particularly boots or fat but light skis?

That spring in the back brought some memories. In the late 80s I had Technicas that had a spring in the back that I think I blew out on my second day with those boots. That’s what led me to meeting the Lange rep at Granite Chief and buying plugboots.
    And here I am.

i can't speak for all the shops but our small order never came, we were given a store in Nelson and another in Canmore to send customers to, at least one called and said please stop sending people to us we didn't get boots either...

you realize the customer pays the exchange or tarrifs ^^

same with Tarrifs on Canadian goods into the USA the customer pays them, trump didn't get it either.

Of course even if he got the memo he wouldn't have read it

I think it's fair to say that you can grind this boot to your heart's content.
Couple quick questions nerd, will the remedy come in a 120? Can you get a zip fit in it? If boa is superior to buckles why did you guys go with buckles? Thanks

If you want the boot to wrap around your forefoot you need boa!

I need the marketing tell me why I need boa on the cuff.
All the utube gear vlogger gonna tell me next autumn how it works and why! Can’t wait for the explanation why cuff boa is better and how my skiing is benefiting from cables pulling my shell thight.
I guess the hoji lock might have similar benefits to cuff boa???

Listen, I’m as grumpy, old and surly as anyone on here and I ain’t got a dog in this fight but if Tom built a kick a** boot, put both buckles and boa on it, let the pro’s decide which one was better and they all said boa then I figure there’s got to be something to it. Hence my question for Nerd, I’m interested in hearing why Atomic put buckles on their kick a** boot instead of boa. I get that change can be hard for us old farts, “why should I change my depends when I can just sit here in my sh**!” but Tom’s already said you can get a ZipFit in boa so I don’t see what your all so p***ed about.

I’d like to try it honestly. The more I think about it, I think it could be a good application and I seldom mess with my cuff buckles after I get them buckled.

Could be hype but if Tom said the K2 pro’s said boa was better I trust him.

for an average skier boa will be better because he doesn't have to figure out how the buckles work.
if your boot is 2 sizes to big and your skis are chin high. the closure system doesn't matter at all

but the core crew has to be convinced otherwise the street credibility doesn't work.

I'm not sure it has much to do with tarrifs when the shop pays the exchange and passes it on to the customer. Looks like TX Pros are going for ~$1k CAD vs $850 USD which is a little shy of the going exchange rate of .70 to 1. Maybe Scarpa did not want to take a 10% hit on their wholesale numbers when every store in the lower 48 was clambering for as many boots as they could get their hands on? Does Scarpa make Canadians pay more on wholesale? I genuinely don't know how that works between Canada vs the USA.

End loser always pays the exchange yeah right now a canuck buck is worth .70 cents, I've seen it worth 1.30 but that was really bad for business and we couldn't sell any lumber down south

where Canadians used to be able to get a break on ski boots was mail ordering out of yurp IF whatever they buy was not made in Canada like plastic ski boots.

So I got 20% off on Scarpa T-1's from Telemark Pyrennes back in the day and they were delivered in only 3.5 days

SO my buddy orders T-2s but he gets hit with a tarrif cuz the TP staff put " xc ski shoes" on the invoice and some were being made in Canada

the tarrif crack was just a joke ... cuz your new pres IS a joke

You’re in the core crew? You’re so cool. My whole life all I’ve ever wanted was to be cool enough to be in the core crew.
