Another time, I got trapped at Billy Bob midwinter when a semi jackknifed across 44 at the old mill site while attempting a 600 point turn. Eventually some other folks showed up coming down from the snow park. We dug for hours in refrozen plow chunder to
Old mill site? Is that Underhill? I guess Road 44 is the Dufur Mill Road but I don't know where the mill was.

    Yeah, that's the spot.

Don't know if it is "the mill." Seems like there were many mills over the years on the flanks of lookout. The remains of the old mill/cabin structure can still be seen if you hike down to the creek bed at the Underhill site.

You guys hear about the pesticide tractor trailer that went into a tributary of Quartzville Creek on NF11 well east of Green Peter Lake about a week and a half ago when that road was covered in snow? WTF!
It’s on the Willamette NF Facebook page.
Dude went off the road and into the creek here:

lol after last night’s heavy rain, Lake Hoodoo came back! But this time you could use ice skates on it. The whole lot was a rink this morning, 24-25F and the ripping winds froze that rainmelt in a flash.

Debating playing hooky tomorrow. What are the odds the lifts run and the snow isn't fucked at MHM?

We’re experiencing strong winds that will likely impact lift operations today- check our lift and trail status for details.
    And before anyone asks
Summit will remain closed for the storm in progress.

    And before anyone asks
I may ask just in case that changes. Perhaps, get into line early will encourage them to spin it.
