Bring out your hard boot snowboards, skwals, teleboards, and of course Monoskis to SkiBowl for what will likely be the last weekend for the Bowl. $45 tickets and the upper bowl is where it’s at!
Telemarkers are rad too, you aren’t afraid of non release bindings. Alpine two skiers get bonus points for 200cm plus or blades!
Give the Bowl some love and come on out to close the season!

This weathers been postponing my trip to Bend. Reports are conflicting for this week. Fucking greedy Meadows raised their prices $50 in 6 days after the renewal period started, May 6th Ive never seen the pass increase in the first 30 days in over 15 years

^^^Friday, Sat, Sunday looking like you're typical Spring skiing in shorts and t-shirt weather. However, a PSA, please do wear your helmet. I was up a few weeks ago on a cool morning and the conditions were very firm. Came down Old Skyliner and just cresting a blind section and see a snowboarder on his back sliding down, his hat and goggles about 75 yards uphill from him. He continued siding on his back with arms to his side. Head bouncing off the snow. Clearly, I could tell he was out cold. When I got to him, his eyes were rolled back in his head. My first concern was to check his breathing, which thankfully he was still breathing. I went to take my phone out to call Ski Patrol but a 2nd skier coming down was able to do that while I attended to the boarder. He came to about 3 minutes later. It took him another two minutes before his eyes finally came into focus. I asked him his name and it took him a few seconds before he answered. Told him not to move and that SP was on the way. They showed up about 4-5 minutes after the call went out. So good on them for getting their quickly. He was not able to tell SP where he was. He had no idea other than what his name was. He was a male boarder probably in his mid-late 50's. He ended up getting an ambulance ride down the mtn with a severe contusion on the back of his head. It was tough to go through that, as first on scene so please be careful on the slopes!

^^^And additionally, make sure your helmet is buckled reasonably tight.

About 20 years ago I was riding blue chair at MHM (RIP) and watched a kid on a board straight line down Face. He caught a front side edge, slammed his head into hard snow, helmet went flying out ahead of him and he flew about 20yards and lawn darted. Killed him - they didn’t know if it was a severed brain stem or just blunt force trauma. Regardless it was gruesome with blood everywhere.

Oh ye of little faith!

Bach skied nicely today from top to bottom. It only got below freezing at the parking lot (29) and was mid 30s at the lift tops last night. Plenty firm for skinning up and suprising sweet corn coming down from Sumit about 11:00. Only problem was avoiding the plowage of the access road.

I know, late in the year for anyone to be looking here and all the forum tech trouble to boot, but I'm gonna find myself at Elk Lake next weekend and while everyone is fishing and looking at Sisters and BT, I'd rather be standing on top of them. Anyone get eyes on them recently? Worth lugging the skis up Green Lakes or Devils Lake THs? Heat wave is doing no favors, but it forecast is way more reasonable going into the weekend. Thanks in advance!

Hola Lady La Niña Oregon Winter 2024-2025

Dan, this is what is looked like coming home. (Eight ft bed, so you can see that's just the hoop frame size)

And after getting legs on it & J-mast removed

If i remember Blue correctly, you can’t remove the mast…too integral. Maybe cut it to length & put a horizontal pipe type fitting on it to get it to hang where you need it. Got some steel skills? And maybe swing set shape frame? I doubt house framing is burly enough to take the new dynamic loading.

Any bendites care to comment on the sun cup to skeeter ratio in the sisters zone? Taking a trip down south for a friend's birthday and was hoping to make some turns and do an overnight or two. It's been a long time since I have skied the middle or north sisters. Thanks in advance!

Was snowing in the parking lot when I left.Had to do a bit of transitioning to deal with the dirt road dug out for mtb season but it was snowing and bowing above the Summit chair.
Crazy to have snow this time of year.
