Tom Jungst commented on an IG post of this that he's the guy in green. He looks so similar to Doug right then!

And yes, some beauty skiing in there especially since they made some narrow hard runs look easy on long skinnys.

Multiple green skier guys, not the same. Is Jungst the very first from .02seconds to .15 seconds?

That's what he says is himself, and that's who I thought was Coombs. I'll guess Jungst knows his own style and his good freind's style much more than me, ha, and let it go.

Dude, that camera is so fun. Not only is the autofocus locked but at 15 FPS it is so smooth with no buffering. I can go to 20 fps but not sure I need it.

I also have it set for back button wide area AF to 3d handoff. That will take a little practice but I can see that being functional.

And not sure how but I deleted my post so re-posting.

Caught rope drop into Headwaters. Snow was funky. It must have gotten warm up there because while deep, it was slabby. Really hard to turn.

Made it over to Lone Tree and grabbed second chair. Same set up and again, tough skiing. It will get better as it gets tracked up.

Ended up running tram laps though and fuckin’ around with the new camera. It was mostly smooth and chalky.

Crazy how fast conditions have changed but at least we still have a base.

I will say the new 8 Ball is slick. I rode it twice and no glitches/stops either time.

Yep, the snow was kinda weird, but I still enjoyed it. Full rockered/flat rockered skis shine in that snow. My buddy on regular cambered skis was struggling in that deep slabby stuff.

The new chair is nice. I hope the automatic closing bar is only while they break it in. I'm all about the bar on these newer chairs as they bounce/buck and stop a lot harder (first week of new Ramcharger I legit almost got thrown off the chair. They had the brakes on that fucker turned way up. And e-stop literally stopped the thing so hard that all the towers seemed like they were gonna snap) but having it close automatically before you even exit the building is nuts.

Spent the day over on the new 8-Ball spinning long Lone Tree laps with a couple of old guy ex-patrollers (that made 3), I can see much better on that side. Nice lift and once the little gremlins are all worked out it will really move the butts.

The mountain is busier than last week and the base is a good bit thinner in most areas. OTOH the 7 day looks promising for the usual 2-4" storms and mild temps. through the end of the year.

Do you have a link to that time-height? The UW website is maybe one of the worst out there but the data is good when you can find it.

This is a model with the Bullseye over Bozeman. It translates better for BB than BS.

On another note. Where the hell is Talisman?

I've been around enjoying the better than last season ski conditions. A week ago I did see Yeahman and posse ripping up Andesite.

Can confirm Talisman lives and was skiing pow last week. Great couple days Mon. and Tues.

Yeah last season's suck is a distant memory. Fingers crossed it keeps up. GD could sure use a dump. Meanwhile I'm getting some beach time in MX with the fam and avoiding the holiday crowds.

Big Sky with 4”. Would love to head down this morning but have family obligations. No biggie, only like a 3 on the FOMO scale. Plus, I have a crew coming into town tomorrow and will be hitting it hard over the next week or so.

Merry Xmas to all of my e-bros!

Well hell, I set 4+" as my threshold for if I go skiing or not. Already exceeded that number.

    Merry New Year heathens.

ETA: Not crowded, not a lot groomed and a lot of shitty skiers trying to figure out how to ski 4-6" of powder snow honey!!!!

The new snow was a tiny bit wind affected and perhaps a bit upside down so some folks were having difficulties. Caught 1st chair on Lone Tree and spun 4 back to back long runs. Nothing groomed there either. Patrol was opening Zone 3 in HW. Andesite seemed to have the deepest new snow total but you really could not go wrong. I never really went above treeline so no idea how the summit skied.

    Dammit, skiing can be fun.

Did not bring the rock board and will be there starting Saturday. How's the coverage overall? The forecast looks promising... Or just enough to cover up the rocks, classic big sky style.
