Anyone get a better view of the lighter-weight touring liner yet? I've seen some black/red liners floating around IG but can't tell for sure if they're the new ones. Who's got the scoop?

Posted up on the Mimic liner forum but crickets - has anyone been able to compare these to the Mimic Pro XTD or Backland Pro liners? I have always had to result to a larger boot due to chronic neuromas, hoping to find something that can help keep my heel locked in without having to use heel inserts to take up volume. This typically causes me to have more neuroma issues due to more pressure being placed on the ball of my foot.
Anyone been able to compare the two? Or has anyone used a gft in a Backland XTD? How is it getting in the boot with the gaiter?
I’ve used my GFTs in Hawx XTD and Backland XTD and they are better in every way than the stock liners for my uses (relatively short tours, care more about boot fit and heel hold on the down than ROM and weight on the up).
If you look in the Backland XTD thread there is some chatter about GFT interfacing with the gaiter, and there is more in this thread back on p. 10, including my method (which I think works well). Short answer is that they place nice for the most part, its just a little fiddly getting in, and it can take a few tours to get a hang if it. Once you’re in they work great.

I was in the stock liner in the 2022 hawx prime xtd 130, which i know has mimic. But not sure about mimic pro; I don’t know the various iterations of liners well since im always in zips pretty much

Anyone use the GFT with a Scarpa 4 Quattro? I’ve been using GFT’s in a Lange XT3 Tour Pro since 2021, and just bought replacement shells - Scarpa 4Q Pro’s. I have pretty much a perfect fit with the GFT + 4Q, but getting my GFT-clad foot into the boot is a nightmare.
I plan to use UHMW tape in the clog, but I’m not sure how to prevent the rubber stalk thing at the top of the fabric heel gaiter (see pic) from getting caught under my heel. A boot horn sort of works, but juggling another piece of plastic makes it harder to spread the cuff overlaps and pry up the tongue. Also, I don't want to have to rely on a boot horn as I won't have one on me when touring...
Thoughts?

Maybe not the answer you're looking for, but why not bring your boot horn touring? I can't get my GFTs into touring boots without it. It weighs nothing and doesn't take up room in the pack.
Read up in the thread - there are a bunch of tips on how to deal with a gaiter and the GFT

That may be what I'll have to do. I'd rather not be dependent on the horn, though. Also, these boots are a challenge even with the horn with the four overlapping pieces of shell, tongue, and clog. Ideally, I'd be able to extend the stalk to the top of the shell so my heel stays in front of the stalk and gaiter while I pry the overlaps from the front of my foot. I plan to try to extend the stalk by sandwiching it in UHMW tape, but I doubt it will hold...
Not a good touring solution, but to get in my Lupo Ti I use an extra tongue as a boot horn.
Works great, and flexes open the back cuff a very small amount.
Not sure if you've tried this (or if it'd even work w the quattro), but I'm able to get my GFTs into my Scarpa F1 LTs a lot easier through the gaiter by opening up walk mode, and dropping the cuff down parallel to the ground, then stepping in through the gaiter using a boot horn...
Also to note, happy to report that my GFTs seem to fit into my Hawx XTD and the F1s similarly, still need to mess around with the ankle pouch cork but very impressed with comfort and performance so far with some early season touring.
Not to be a total naysayer, but I’ve never understood who would want to use the same sweaty boot liner for over a hundred days.
Do people have some sort of cleaning routine that takes away the bacteria and sweat?
Boot dryer?.. I use one that has optional heat (always turned off) and my liners have little to no funk with probably around 150 days.

Yeah, I have a couple of pairs of Zipfits (Freerides and GFTs) with 50–100 days on each, and there is zero funk. I use a boot dryer, but even so, Intuitions would be funky by now even with regular drying.
I do a spritz of disinfectant/deodorant spray each day and have nifty little sacks of cedar shavings that do the drying. Helps with the funk on intuitions anyway

As I get back into the shop life, I’m reminded how many people put their boots in walk mode to step in and take them off. 99% of the time I lock out the cuff and their life is easier. When putting on, your heel will snag the heel cup if it’s open. When taking off, you have no leverage to pry the boot off with the cuff.
Just a friendly reminder to try putting your boots on with the boot in ski mode. If you really can’t do it, try a shoe horn. If you need to do it in walk mode, use a shoe horn to avoid hooking on the heel. If everything works perfect, ignore.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.
