Anybody in SLC got an ATK jig I could use? Happy to compensate you for your time with libation/vice of your choice!

I think these Chargers were mine at one point, if so I'm glad to see they live again!

Some stoke from last season for attention:

@tBatt how many beers do we need to toss at the groomer crew to get them to drop the tiller?

Conditions were great today, no need for a groom IMO. Guessing you went early and was it crusty?

Title basically says it all as that article didn’t have much substance IMO but it’s certainly interesting that the Cardiff homeowners have elicited the help of WBA to help them regain access to their land.

These articles make me wonder why they didn’t renew the existing special use permit and what additional things were they asking for…. Always vague

I’m finding myself in SLC early December with an open day. Will be up late the night before and don’t want to pay stupid money for a day ticket. Thinking Solitude or Brighton so I don’t have to battle LCC traffic and they’ve got decent prices. My thinking check out? Recommendations between the two? Strong skier, enjoys steep trees.

Edit: how’s traffic going to be on a Saturday morning in BCC? I know, snow dependent, but how early do you have to be at the canyon?

Listen, you sound like a nice person. Rather than accosting you as another Ikoner that stumbled onto this thread, I hope to help you. I would do the research for yourself. Poking around this website it has historical information as well as real time cameras that you can view prior to your trip. Most resorts will open mid November so you can see the traffic flows at specified times to give you a go/no go idea.

    Thanks for the link.

For the record, not an ikoner. (Hence why I’m looking for a more affordable day ticket than Alta, snowbird, park city, etc.)

If it's snowing really hard, a drive up either canyon can be shitty. But in December you have two big things going for you: there's not enough snow up on the hills for avalanche-related road closures, and nobody seems to care to go skiing until around Christmas. Alta ski area agrees with this general idea--- they don't require parking reservations until December 13. With your timing I'd pick the ski hill that I was already the most interested in checking out.

    "For Immediate Release

BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON, UTAH (November 13, 2024) — Solitude Mountain Resort is excited to announce the removal of blackout dates for Ikon Base Pass and Ikon Base Plus Pass holders for the 24/25 season. This change reflects Solitude’s commitment to being Utah’s premier Ikon Pass destination and to providing additional value to our Ikon Base Pass and Ikon Base Plus Pass guests.

A large portion of Solitude’s visitors are Ikon Pass holders, who consistently make the resort their top choice for mountain experiences in Utah. By removing blackout dates, Solitude is extending greater flexibility and enhancing the overall experience for Ikon Base Pass and Ikon Base Plus Pass holders.

The removal of blackout dates applies only to Ikon Base Pass and Ikon Base Plus Pass holders. Guests with Ikon Session Passes will continue to have blackout dates as designated.

Join us this Friday, November 15, at 8 a.m. for the opening day party of the Moonbeam lift, featuring DJ + Donuts, conditions permitting. “With the new snow this week and more on the way, we are excited for the 24/25 season to officially begin,” says Amber Broadway, General Manager of Solitude Mountain Resort. Parking reservations will begin on December 21, 2024."
