A fork that has not been ridden, is not the same as a new fork if it was previously installed on a bike. As soon as you cut the steerer tube, it is no longer new. I'm sick of reading ads on pinkbike for "new" forks with 6.5" of tube.

I disagree, as long as the exact condition is disclosed. If it’s a new take-off, it’s still new IMO. That’s why you can typically buy these things at a decent discount.

At least they bothered to put the size. I love it when you email someone with 'how long is the steerer tube' and you get back, I'm not sure, but the bike it was off was a medium...

The adoption in Aspen has been amazing. We have a really good MUT system. Traffic getting in and out of town can be bad and there’s nowhere to park. It’s just much faster and easier on a bike, E or not.

I see a lot of class 3 on the MUT’s, but it’s just not that big of deal. I don’t see much poaching of single track.

It's the difference between new and new in box.

Thats actualy pretty benign compared to the quality of most pink bike adds, at least they eitehr told you or at least you asked how long the steerer tube is

in any case regardless of nomenclature the price is still the price

Yeah, that's a good way to look at it. I'm an English teacher, so I get consumed by words and their meaning. If you take a pipe cutter to a fork, it's not new. Similarly to people selling skis here. If you've drilled them, not new. If you wore a jacket for a week on the hill, not new. If you only did 5 miles on a set of tires, not new. There's plenty of modifiers out there to be precise. Don't get me started about apostrophes...

Fucking bike thieves. We had two people break into my truck, use the remote to open the garage door, and steal two of our Transition demo bikes last night / this morning. While we were home. Those fuckers are lucky my wife and I aren't gun-totin' Trumpers, that's how stupid people get themselves killed.

And I don't give a rat's ass about e-bikes unless they're being dicks and jeopardizing my access 'round here.

That fucking happened to me too, in March!!!My wife and I had just gotten new bikes and a week later they fucking broke in and stole them in the middle of the night. We’ve been so pissed off about this and no one on the street has good camera footage. I rode the bike once. Fucking cunts.

I didn't, but my wife did (I'm sick, so I was sleeping downstairs in our guest bedroom). She ran into the garage within a minute or so, and scared them away with our dog - but they had already taken two bikes. They tried to take a third bike, but had to drive off too fast and ended up leaving it on the side of our street. I also had a 4th bike in there that they didn't have time to grab.

^^^ No good video footage from our neighbors either, the cops canvassed the neighborhood earlier this morning and asked around. Our street is so quiet and dark, I'm not sure it would have helped anyways.

A big ring got busted here in sf a few months ago and thefts finally slowed down. Not gone but fewer. The ring always knew which garages had expensive bikes. They’d arrive, drill a hole in the door so they could pull the emergency release, grab the bikes and be gone within a couple minutes. Cops never did much if anything w videos that victims provideded afaik. It sucks. One guy I know closed his shop because he got thieved so much he gave up. Bike thieves suck

Ya pretty much, check how long I been posting here

I was anti E-bike for a while but then i got old which wasn't that bad but then I got hurt

so after talking to the cool kids at the bike area to make sure there was social license

I bought my e-bike with the OAS checks and so then I realized they are fun

I realized there really arent any downsides to e-bikes ,

except maybe if I was in America ?

But it'd be way easier to describe their truck after it left my house. "It's the one with 17 holes in the tailgate."

$49 + the cost of a micro SD card. No subscription shit required.

It'll tell me when the door has been opened, when it's been closed, how long it's been open, etc..... all push notifications and completely customizable.

    Worth it.

That really sucks! I also find it pretty crazy that someone would have the balls to do that while people are home. It won't take long for them to pick the wrong house at the wrong time. I am not advocating violence or someone lose their life over a bike, but if a stranger is in my garage and looking me in the eye....I am at least grabbing a pick axe out of instinct and chasing them. If I had something else in my hand...it would be tough in that moment to be calm.

My dogs are not very scary and wouldn't scare anyone away.....but lets just say I don't advise someone opening my garage door in the middle of the night.

We immediately knew the garage door had been opened, because we were in the house: no app needed. The only thing that would have helped last night is a smart opener that disables the system during certain hours, unfortunately a video camera wouldn't have done much good other than giving us a better view of the thieves stealing my bikes.

Yeah, it does that too. [emoji1745] It would suck to be able to give some video to the insurance company and to the cops.
