You don’t know what dropped means in cycling lingo do you?

OK passed/ dropped/ not keeping up/ it all amounts to the same thing, someone doesn't keep up which appears to be even more maddening if its cuz they did it by cha-chinging their visa card

It could be because they don’t like inhaling dust unnecessarily. I slow down if I pass a cyclist on a dirt road in my car so they don’t have to choke on dust, why wouldn’t a group of ebikers do the same?
Is this more about you and feeling that you’re being attacked because of your attachment to your ebike?

Just being a dick for no reason is probably worse than feeling a bit insecure

The reality is I would ride with everyone in this place on a regular MTN bike or an ebike and we'd have a good time. The bitching is about ignorant jerks on whatever bike.
I currently ride with a guy on an ebike and I did back east also. Kinda like the late 80's I skied with skiers and snowboarders. We all got along great and picked on those freehealer kooks [emoji1787]
Last week I noticed that many of the rocks alongside our local loop had been thrown aside. These rocks were part of the original trail design to keep it narrow. To be clear, these were rocks BESIDE the rock-free and mostly smooth trail. I put many of them back, but wondered WTF.
Today I met a guy while volunteering at the Paydirt aid station. He was bragging about how he had recently "buffed out" the trails. I asked him what that meant, and sure enough--he was the rock thrower! I lit into him pretty hard, explaining that the trail was now going to get wider and no longer be singletrack. After a little back and forth, he explained that he gets pedal strikes and wants the trail to be wide enough that people can pass without moving over! He further claimed to be working on behalf of the local trail group, Carson Valley Trails. I told him that that's why I give my money to Muscle Powered (the Carson City group), instead of CVT.
TLDR: I met a guy who is proudly anti-singletrack and wants to make trails 72" wide.
ride bikes, climb, ski, travel, cook, work to fund former, repeat.
We have an older local trail system in the foothills that has really nice narrow old school single track, like no more than 16-18” wide with a lot of it 12”. Most of the grades are pretty mild but a lot of the trails traverse steep hillsides and they’re twisty. I hear a lot of complaints from people don’t like the trails because they’re too narrow and the steep side hills are scary and they can’t go as fast as they would like. I think it’s great because the only people biking on the trails are older experienced riders. They’re never crowded like some of the dirt sidewalk trails.

If you are running a bike with the wagon wheels, every thing is a berm

We have a quite a few of those here also and I love them. Tight trees where you have to turn in-between them to get the bars thru and just twisty old school trails. Super fun to have right next to new school bermy jump trails giving a nice variety to chose from.
Funny thing, and I guess it makes sense, is the old school trails see virtually no traffic. Just not fun enough for most "kids", but old farts like me dig it.
Good on you for letting him know. Flow trails have a place. So do e-bikes. However the proliferation of both caters to the lowest common denominator of user. In turn too many of these users expect an easy climb on every trail and descents that ride like a flow trail. A lot of (newer?) mountain bikers have a fucked up perspective of the sport really.
Moving rocks off the trail never occurred to me when I was learning how to mountain bike in Ohio 20 years ago. Clearing obstacles was a rite of passage.
In a mtn bike area with lots of twists/ turns/ obstacles a < 13kph average over 4200 kms so acoustic bikes are going a lot slower cuz there isnt a one of them I havent been able to easily pass on the up
I'm saying some of them don't like getting passed and its natural, same people will pass you on a 2 lane highway and then slow down

The ones who don't like getting passed are probably not happy that the ebiker didn't speak to them. Every ebiker that comes up on me says something like, "take your time, I'm in no hurry" and I reply "thanks" and "just pass when you can" Usually I see the lane and get to the side pretty quick. And don't think everyone can hear you come up behind them. Sometimes it takes a minute to realize someone is there if they don't speak up. Remember people pedaling unassisted can possibly be breathing pretty hard and that can be loud up inside the noggin
actualy in real life the motor is whirring/making so much noise the acoustic biker alwasy sez go ahead and pass, at least in Canada, its not really a lot of noise like a motorcycle engine but to a silent acoustic biker an E-bike motor is very noticable when it gets within 50-100 ft and then buddy knows he will be passed
they can hear the motor far enough away that I don't even have to sit waiting for an openning they often just welcome a reason to pull over at a good spot for them to sit and cough up a lung

Here’s a rant, what dumbfuck came up with the term “acoustic bike”? It’s a bike or bicycle. We’re not talking about guitars.

Probably the same guy who came up with Amish bike.
