I really want a do it all winter ski for that stuff, not a quiver. Moments website sizing chart puts me on the 184 as the max size for my height and “Advanced Charger,” and doesn’t recommend the 190 till 6’1”.
I'm 6'1 215 and on my second pair of DWT in 184. Ski the Wasatch, been through it all. Deep, Steep, Firm, Crusted, Big mountains, narrow chutes, long big days etc they are my one ski quiver. I don't think I ski very conservatively and have no qualms about opening it up and attacking on the 184, no problems with float or tip dive, I do ski very centered (mostly balanced on the front half of my arch) There is a point where I notice they become less stable in terms of straight lining funky snow, and I am sure the 190 would have an advantage in those situations, but I've never regretted being on the 184.

ZZZ- I ski the 190, but I weigh almost 40 lbs more than you- I hover around 200-205 lbs.

i have a buddy that is 180ish lbs who skis the 184 in the Cascades and loves them.

I think you'll be fine either way you go. If you were wanting to ski a lot of wide open terrain and charge maybe the 190 would be the way to go, but for what you are describing I think you'll be fine on the 184.

Anyone got any advice on a Utah, it's been two weeks since its snowed groomers are scraped off, and let's go ski some windbuff bumps skis, daily driver ski?

Preface- I've skied a bent chet 100 for probably two years, and I'm not the strongest/best skier as I'm relatively new to skiing (6 years now I think?). I (thought) I really loved that ski. I picked up a pair of deathwish 112's (184) and have been skiing that for the last 3 weeks. A bit on the heavier side than what I'm used to but a wonderful ski. Phenomenal edge hold.

I picked up my Bent chet 100's from the shop as I got a cheap tune on them and tried to ski them on pretty shitty snow (warm kind of refrozen snow) and they had next to NO edge hold. I didn't have my 112's to compare them to,but I felt like i was ice skating with very dull rental skates (mind you this was a fresh tune but also shit snow.).

Anyway skis i'm looking at for daily driver. I think ideally in the 100-95 range with great edge hold and can also rip groomers. Really want something I can slash around on bumps too. 184 length is my sweet spot I think. I don't ski backwards.

    - blade optic 96
    - deathwish 104
    - wildcat 101
    - commander 92, 102

    something else I'm missing?

solid options to replace the chets.

the 104 is going to ski similar to your 112 because of the triple camber. It’s going to be stiffer and more damp because it uses a more stout beech/poplar core than the ash/poplar which is softer.
its -6 mount rather than the -5 on the 112 so the 104 has a little more charge to it. The 104 and 112 are basically the same weight in the same lengths because the 104 core is heavier. Still plenty playful but has that triple camber edge bite you already know and love.

the cat 101 is going to ski closer to your chet when it was new. Similar rocker profile so a similar playful feel. The cat is a beefier ski than the Chet though. So it’s going to have more back bone, higher charge rate and more stable compared to the Chet. It can be used in the park if you frequent that from time to time. It’s a tad more playful than the wish 104 but doesn’t have as wide an operating range conditions wise lacking the triple camber.

don’t have any experience on the optic.

if you love you’re wish 112 and just want something narrower to replace the Chet I’d say get the 104 in 184 and you’ll be very happy.

if you want something that skis more towards the Chet’s rocker profile without the triple camber than I’d say get the cat 101.

If you're not a strong skier, forget about the Commanders unless you want to treat your skiing as a project. I have the 102's and while they're an absolute kick in the ass on good days, they will kick your ass if you aren't in the driver's seat.

Otherwise, you have a solid list going. If you want a less directional ski, how about the Mindbender 99Ti? Master Blaster seems to get some love, too. I haven't skied them, but my daily driver is the Hotshot, though I wouldn't rave about hard snow edging. They're better at slarving in firm conditions. Awesome when things soften up. Because you have a 112 already, I think I'd be looking sub 100.

If you want to try out QST Blanks or 106's just to see what you think, let me know. Then you can see how they compare to other skis on your list via Blister Deep Dives.

For you Chipotle Banana owners, how often do you take it out? Do you find it a pretty specific weapon for pow days and several days after or are is it just so fun that you are pulling out quite often aside from those types of days?

Also, who is daily driving the Meridian vs say the WC or DW? I've loved full rocker in the past for the mostly off-piste skiing I do hitting drops, jumps, going into steep tight trees, etc.

meridians are my favorite ski in my line up for daily use (ghost trains steal my heart for overall) you know I have a few cats, and the dw line up too so I’m choosing the meridians usually over the others. I’m headed to Tahoe this month and taking the meridians and chipotle blades.

I really just want to get the 'nanners and ride them a lot just because of the top sheet, but am realistically very intrigued by the Meridian based upon how people have described it as handling chop/pnw shit type snow at high speeds. I love my DW 104 which covers low tide and hard/icy type situations. Have been pointed to the DW, but it is softer than the DW 104 and unsure if it can charge as hard in chopped up off piste and be as playful in the air as the Meridian?

if you want some variety since you already have the 104 if absolutely recommend the Meridians. It gives up a tiny bit of float vs the 112 wish. But really only in the waist. The tip and tail widths are pretty close. The deathwish will likely always be around. The meridians are not. So get them while you can.

if you love the top sheet just grab the blades when they drop and ski them all season long.

Man, I skied my CBs damn near every day last winter and had em out yesterday. I DD my Meridians this year. They do what I want them to do. I have a pair of Enforcer 110s that have not seen snow this year except for work type stuff. The enforcers seem stupid compared to the CBs or Meridians

Love to hear it. Are you riding your Meridians more than the CB this year due to just having less snow (not sure where you are??) or just due it being a new ski? E110 just sounds boring compared to all the Moment offerings.

Smart. You just can’t beat vipers on bananas or blades.

I bought the Meridians this year. I have had plenty of leftover pow on the Meridians this years and they are great. This makes me think I need to find an old 117 Meridian. The E110s are fine but feel uninspired and don’t really excel at anything-for me, anyway. I’m hoping to score a Commander of sorts or a Countach at Moment’s factory sale this summer.

I may just have impulse bought an essentially brand new CB 186 mounted with Pivot 15s. It was too good of a deal to pass up. Meridians next season I guess ha.

Too short and about $300 too expensive. I would mount the shit out of those with a touring binding, though. If the price were correct

Yeah I didn't pay what he was asking for them. I am local and snagged them on the way through Seattle. Still on the fence about keeping them, as I do have to remount them and have an actual need for a new touring set up not the CB. The person literally rode them for a day, as they look brand new i.e. not a single scratch or scuff anywhere.

ya I was supposed to buy them from him on NS. He got me shipping and everything just didn’t love the idea of having to remount. I could have kept the heel or toe in the same place and just had to remount one but still didn’t love the idea. Also didn’t want the bindings.
