    "Trail hogs"

The group of tourists who parked their car in the first 5' of the trail today made me think of this post...plenty of other spots to park...

That sucks. I did this Friday, and I don't think anyone here wants to see the pic without the glove. The cut went 1/2 inch deep into the palm to the muscle. But still, not as bad as a shoulder injury those are the worst IMO.

Not sure, I had the shakey-pukes from the impact for a bit and then hobbled off discombobulated to my car. Can't think of one pointy rock anywhere near where I fell but I'm looking next time for it. Just pancaked really hard.

I texted some friends some gore pics and then said how glad I was that I didn't land on my shoulder - I really hate shoulder injuries. No fun.

Just here to commiserate. Popular downhill-only trail here has an exit that is a short steep uphill to a t-intersection without a lot of room at the intersection so even though riders are slowing down for the intersection most everyone is trying to maintain some speed so they can make it uphill and through the junction. Well sure enough it's tourist season and everyone just stops right in the middle of the junction and then gives dirty looks when you come in behind them. Had to dismount on the uphill and push my bike past them because these asshats where camped out in the middle of the trail. Nothing like ending a fun downhill run by pushing your bike uphill.

I don't hold people up when I'm climbing, if they want to pass me, fine, but let me get to a spot on the trail that it is wide enough for you to pass without myself having to stop. Seems pretty simple. Motorcycles can pass me, that's fine too, but if you are on a non-motorized designated trail, then fuck off.

Feels sore and fragile. Saw an ortho today, mri later this week. Probably no need for surgery, but real riding is going to be 8-12 weeks at least. Not quite a season-ender, but close.

It’s really annoying on a climb because you loose momentum and pedal cadence by stopping. Once it flattens out it’s cool to pull over to let them pass, in my opinion.

It’s like the unwritten hiking rules on a trail, the people doing the harder activity (ascending) have the right of way over the people taking the easy way (descending).

Assholes like you deserve no respect.

When did I say mikela turns are horrible? and mine are wonderful. I am fairly certain I said I did nt like her boot alignment a couple years ago.....its been fix forever now.

Yep, just lucky I guess. Ortho had never heard of it happening nor has anyone I've told about it.

Dantheman, I hope your shoulder recovers quickly and fully.

Bushy, I'm with ya. Who cares what kind of bike. I do subscribe to waiting until an ideal spot to pass. I also typically just move out of the way for other riders and call to them to continue riding no matter where I am at on the trail or what bike I'm riding, just the polite thing to do.

I cracked my Hightower frame and Santa Cruz has a replacement frame for me but it will take 4-6 weeks to assemble and ship. Seems like a long wait for a frame that's "in stock."

Oh well, I guess I'm on my steel hardtail for the summer. First world problems.

yeah I dont have an E bike but they are becoming increasing common around stowe.

I just pull over and let the group pass, like I have to get started again....kind of who cares. Only time I was frustrated by them was when I was playing leap frog with a group on the stick house loops area (rolling technical trail) and their skills didnt match the trail but could catch on the less technical climbs.

Yeah, that’s a pretty wild mechanism. Was the berm rocky or full of braking bumps? Even still, I imagine you must’ve done something just right…..

Heh. The Brianhead DH course is more rock than dirt and this was an extra chunky section. More of a steep rocky rut than a berm, really.

Sorry to hear but definitely be thankful for no surgery.
I've had 3 knees and an ankle reconstruction but last year's rotator cuff/bicep tendon repair was the worst.
Six months of nothing and a very painful rehab.
I currently have a Grade 5 AC Separation (clavicle is basically a branch sicking out with nothing attached) that will go unfixed due to that experience.
