Jesus, again, everyone is entitled to their own fears, and I’m not even saying you’re wrong, but I’ve walked, skied and biked around literally dozens and dozens (hundreds) of momma and bull moose to continue my day. If I see a momma grizz up the trail? I’m going home, day over.

Absolutely! No way I’m sticking around the same neighborhood with a momma griz. Moose, I seen them every day damn near all summer, give them a respectful distance and have never had an issue.

Very, very cool vid. I have one of a coyote and another of a fox from ages ago. Our dogs do it too. Still, a pine marten? Wow.

Authorities are investigating whether the turkey that was killed was once pardoned by Obama. Is this another example of the harm done by Democrats being soft on crime? Just asking.

I forgot about this one I saw during my Grand Teton trip last month. I expected to see moose, bear, elk, pronghorns, but have to say this wasn't on my radar:


I don't think I'd ever seen a badger in the wild before, but from what I hear they are fairly common in that area.

Throw a bucket on top of it, then grab it by the scruff ..... apparently they like that.

You'll have to take my word for it but these are tundra swans on Donner Lake. We see them about every other year, early winter, and they only stay a couple of days. They sound a little like loons and look like ordinary swans but with black faces. They never get close enough for a good picture with the little point and shoot I have.

That reminded me of the quick video I was able to get of a pine marten. Was having a great solo bc day and on the last run spotted something bounding through the evergreens towards me.

Because they always leave after a couple of days I assumed they stopped by us on the way south, but apparently they do winter in the Tahoe area--maybe down in NV? Or maybe just someplace less populated than Donner Lake.

They're down here in the valley, in the rice fields, along with snow geese.
Highway 99 north of Sac is pretty spectacular this time of year.

Yea they are fairly common around here- saw one a couple days ago. Neat animals
