Where's big Steve when you need him
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
Cletus: Duly noted.
Thanks for posting the pic. Look's like a straight Merriam's.
Hey, I'm serious. Has it been murder of crows, etc, for centuries or a few years. I don't remember hearing a lot of those terms when I was a kid--just a few--like gaggle of geese. OTOH there weren't a lot of groups of animals to name in Detroit. Flock of pigeons, pack of rats, pretty much covered it.
I’m pretty sure murder of crows predated your birth, but maybe not. There’s use of the term dating to the 5th century. How old are you?

Cracking me up.
I saw this typo today looking up a location for a restaurant, and it said “across from the Cheveron”.
I was like WTF, dumbasses.
So for kicks I looked up the spelling and it’s from the Anglo-Norman era. I mean I guess they wanted some history cred because it’s a fairly new restaurant, and I guess they thought “You know, we’re just gonna skip Anglo-Saxon and go right on back to Anglo-Norman.”

You'll have to take my word for it but these are tundra swans on Donner Lake. We see them about every other year, early winter, and they only stay a couple of days. They sound a little like loons and look like ordinary swans but with black faces. They never get close enough for a good picture with the little point and shoot I have.

oh boy!
you should post those on FB on theWildlife Photography Page
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
Tiny dead rattler. Gloved finger for scale.![]()
There was that wolf that was going after that woman cyclist in YNP. One of our crew was the guy that rescued her. It was a weird story and not typical behavior, especially from park wolves. Good thing I wasn't the rescuer because I would have shot it and that would have opened a giant can of worms.
Jesus, again, everyone is entitled to their own fears, and I’m not even saying you’re wrong, but I’ve walked, skied and biked around literally dozens and dozens (hundreds) of momma and bull moose to continue my day. If I see a momma grizz up the trail? I’m going home, day over.
