A little poopy butt no big deal? In the first world, true, but the number one cause of death in the world in the first year of life is diarrheal illness.

True, but other then a few crazy antipolio Muslim cultures, most of the third world would love access to basic vaccines.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

Perhaps, or maybe Washington is not in the Americas. Always been confusing with two Washingtons. Maybe they both got booted for bad behavior.

Low vaccination rates were a factor in a 2011 measles outbreak, including many Somali-American children. At the time, an anti-vaccine advocate was telling community members that the MMR vaccine caused autism — a view that has been discredited by extensive scientific research.

"A lot of the anti-vaccine groups targeted the Somali community," Ehresmann said.

The source of the current outbreak has not been identified yet, but it most likely involved a traveler to a foreign country who came back with a case of measles, which no longer occurs naturally in the United States.

all this means is that no measles outbreaks in the Americas originated in the Americas. There were 70 cases in the US in 2016--apparently all can be traced back to the eastern hemisphere. Given that there are 20 million cases worldwide yearly we will continue to see cases despite the disease being "eliminated" here.

I'm so embarrassed to be related in any way to these cretins. I'd call them autistic but I think I think they'd miss the ironing.

    Fucking Italians.

    https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2018/08/07/h...ntl/index.html

"It destroyed Italians' trust in politics, and then it spread to anyone with a specific expertise," he said. "Five Star's slogan at the 2013 elections was 'One is worth one,' which is the denial to any concept of competence and merit."

In a data analysis for Wired, Saporiti uncovered that in some areas in Italy, one in two children born in 2013 did not get the MMR vaccination.

The Washington part doesn't surprise me. We have friends (friends of friends, really) that are staunch anti-vaxers. The strange part is that they both have college degrees, money, live in a nice house, and generally fit the upper middle class stereotype, yet if you get on the topic of vaccinating kids, he will start down an internet fueled anti-vax, big government, big brother, Illuminati conspiracy rabbit hole more suited to a heavily armed hermit living in the woods.

Just saw this. Makes no sense--all dogs are autistic: nonverbal, repetitive behaviors. It's clear,
As far as the new outbreak in WA--there's nothing left to be said. OK--maybe one thing. I wonder if the Russians are behind the antivax movement.
