That really does suck. On the other hand maybe I can finally convince my son that sliding is always safer than diving

Hundreds of millions of dollars invested in these guys and they slide headfirst.

    Not on my team, brutha.

I kinda admire the Orioles players, they're keeping their heads up and playing hard even though they're way done. Not sure what happened to that team exactly but these guys are gamers.

    OFFICIAL 2018 MLB THREAD

Would be hilarious if the Yankees had to schlep out to Oakland for one game. I guess the spreads on those charter flights are kinda nice though. CC prob a big fan.

I think Betts locked it down on clinch night. That and the 13 pitch Grand Slam were two of the best ABs by anyone this season.

How do you not give deGrom the Cy? Not his fault he pitched for a living dumpster fire of a team.

it’s not his fault, but i think the eye popping strikeouts and wins from scherzer catch enough votes

I'll bet you're wrong. The narrative has been all Degrom lately. He wins the CYA.

The voters have improved over the years, let's see if it is enough to get DeGrom some hardware. I still think 300k's means a lot to people, is there a vegas line on this?

Kinda interesting series in Boston this weekend. Will the Yanks win 100? Will the Sox win 110? Will Oakland have to come to NYC or can they win out and the Yankees get swept and have to go out there? And what are the tie breakers if they end up with the same record?

A's still have two more losses than the yanks; so the yanks basically have to be swept for the A's to get home field; very unlikely.

i'm more stoked for the senior circuit. Rockies holding a one game lead to stay out of the play in over the dodgers and the cubs only being one up on the brewers. i'm no cubbie hater but they got their series and the dodgers have enough, it's rockies and brewers time to get real playoff games and not just a play in.

man, I would easily pay good money to sit along the first base side at coors with the sun setting on a world series game over the mountains; THAT would be awesome.

Yeah I'm aware the Yanks would have to get swept, see my post you quoted, I said that. And as far as very unlikely, I recall a series in August, in Yankee Stadium, that shows it's quite possible. Not likely, okay.

I thought you were an Astros guy though. So, Rockies-Astros WS? How confident of that would you say you are?

My Cubs are KILLING me!! Nothing like stretching it out to the very last. The Brew Crew is no joke. I am really hoping for a Cubs - Rockies series so I can catch a couple games.

    not anymore.

The Astros scrapped decades of national league rivalry with the dodgers and mets when I was a kid and braves and cards later so the new owner could save some bucks. in fairness to him, it is his team; so he is entitled; but then I am entitled to root for whoever I wish; been to more rockies games at coors in the past 5 years than Astros.

personally, i'm wanting a rockies - tribe series as a baseball fan. either one would be great for the franchises; but that's a tall order; Astros dodgers repeat is most likely.

yanks a couple home runs away from the record now and a couple games away from 100. A championship ring and those records would really turn around a frustrating (at times) season.
