Strikeouts are overrated, especially nowadays where most players fan 80x/year. I'd rather have a pitcher have less ks, more IP, and not throwing their arms out. Nolan Ryan would have 450ks/year in today;s game.

but very interesting day coming, nl west and central still undecided and braves could still lose home field in the first round.

if all 5 win, there might be double playoff games Monday for both divisions and to decide home field, after 162; pretty remarkable.

6-7 years ago or so was a wild final day. This may be right there. Would be great if they could have every game start at the same time today...at least the meaningful ones.

Forgive me if I'm having slight flashbacks to last year's Bruins team.

the rays beat the yanks on the last game of the day, it was pretty great; but if all 5 win today; that would be incredible. broadcast tv is all about the nfl today but the mlb network guys gotta be liking this finish. Harold Reynolds is probably giddy.

changed it just in case there's a playoff Monday, so an east coast team would not have a distinct advantage if a west coast team played at 5pm pst and then had to travel to the east coast to play the next day.

Makes sense. Teams gonna have to stay focused and not be looking at out-of-town scoreboard every 2 seconds. These are the kind of days we live for as fans.

just awesome. two 163 games Monday and the dodgers and rockies are also playing for home field in the division series as the braves lost and will be a game behind in the win column regardless of that 163 outcome for the nl west.

Mauer might call it a career? There aren't too many catchers I'd take over him over the past few decades. Kind of makes me feel old watching him retire.

    Go Dodgers!

My favorite team in baseball today is... The Oakland A's! Fuck the Yankees, let's go A's!
"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy

ESpN broadcast sux ballz. Overanalysis and ridiculous metrics are the name of the game. So overdone. It's baseball, not rocket science.

Game 163 is such BS. The season is 162. If it's a tie go to a tiebreaker. head-to-head first, etc. If he had won the Triple Crown on game 163 that would have been a bad joke.
