Wish I could head up the sat night but doesn't seem like there's any cheap places to crash near Brighton or Solitude. Must be pretty sick to wake up to a road closure already at the mountain..

Check out Brighton lodge if it's not already booked. It's really cheap for slopeside lodging. And if you're traveling up bcc, there likely won't be a road closure. Bcc usually closes because some fuck head tried to get up using 2wd or you know, a trucker's GPS told him to go through gaurdsman to get to PC.

To get up bcc on a pow weekend, I generally try to get to the canyon at 730 (get to lodge at 8, drink beer or red bull, in line at 830, drink more beer, and then have a great day). Fuck, I miss having a pass in bcc...lcc not really meshing with my style this year.

^They'll post chains/4x4 restrictions, closures etc. there.

Also significantly less chance for a road closure at BCC vs LCC.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Snowbird Ski Patrol is putting on the "Baldy Bash" at the Tram Club Saturday night. $20 gets you in, two drinks, and an entry into the raffle. Starts 7:00pm.

Hey Utah folk, Thinking about cruising out to use up a couple mountain collective days. Checking out Snowbasin tomorrow, I’ve never been there and joining the madness up LCC Sunday. I feel like I already know the answer to this questions but....is there anywhere to park a 170 sprinter overnight up LCC? Or is my best option boondocking somewhere in sandy and heading up before .6am. Also if anyone is going to be at Snowbasin tomorrow, I’d love to tag along for a tour.
Finally, what’s the best rec center/health in the area club to catch a soak and shower ?

Most of Snowbasin closed for wind today. Could be the same story tomorrow. Check northern wasatch front mesonet and forecast before committing to Blowbasin.

True dat. Pow Mow opened at noon and gradually lifted wind hold on everything but Mary's, Village and Paradise by around 2:30. Worst of the wind should be over in the Ogden area overnight (fingers crossed)

Yeah no matter what, don't stay overnight in your car when the road is closed. Udotavy sent out a post a couple weeks ago specifically talking about this and how it's against the law with interlodge. I would just stay somewhere in the valley and drive up before 6.

I get the feeling there's gonna be a bunch of traffic before 6 on Sunday now haha.

Ok we established that the guy who has the auto 'go on now' is staying at deer valley and that you have to get up early to beat the traffic. Big surprise! Now where is the stoke from today? Any beta on snow conditions or stability?

^^ appreciate the obs. with you on the more mellow, protected areas for sure.

WASATCH STOKE, CONDITIONS, OBSERVATIONS AND ASSORTED DRIVAL 17-18

What’s up with Park City and the readily available, high end, blow?
I could get used to this lifestyle. I’m holed up downstairs watching, Darkest Hour. Every half hour they call me up for a bump. Face is melting.

Just got back from Brighton. Base was higher than two weeks ago when I last went. Rode Great Western most of the time which was fun. Hoping to hit up Milly for a powder day tomorrow.

kept waiting for the sun to disappear and the snow to begin but neither happened. east bowl was a wind-jacked mess with a thin crust pretty much everywhere. flanagans was solid but the first 5-6 turns were also wind-effected before getting into the trees. tomorrow should be interesting to say the least.
