If you read the article I posted in the Harvey thread you will successful women talking about how they had to basically join the boys club.

Not so sure it's gotten tons better. Harvy just got called out after how long? He was still doing the same BS. His company only stopped when they had no other choice.

Yesterday was little Viva's birthday. Texted her (3 hour time difference) telling her how awesome she is and how I'm digging life so much more because of her. Later on, mail deliver my present (on fucking time, for once!) and she called. Great conversation, as usual, and she apologized profusely for flaking on me last month when I was supposed to fly out, due to family issues. I told her that her mom needs to die in a fucking fire. She sighed and said nothing. But she didn't disagree. #Dadknowsbest.

These a just a few examples of sexism women experience every day. Don't even get me started on the men who think it's their right to stare at and judge my boobs every day.

I hope that as a nation we wake up to the biases against women that run the gambit from rape to divorce settlements that result in a 41% decline in financial assets for women (http://www.gao.gov/products/GAO-12-699). Sexism includes day-to-day disparagement of women combined with unequal pay. Today, even contraception is under attack.

Oh, and I'm tired of the insinuations that women who talk about sexism must be crazy. Men use that tactic to shut women up, and it's belittling.

There are many women in my life that have been raped or assaulted. It's not a laughing matter and there is nobody that condones it on this board. I think I can say there is minority of men that perpetrate these acts.

There are no easy answers except teaching young men what is acceptable.
