My trail this morning.

Wow, that sucked.
Not easy to run distance in 70's.
Chicago temp better drop by 20 next few weeks!
Regardless, let the taper begin.
New pair's not so new anymore.

If you have to run with a hangover, this is not too bad a place to do it.
I drank entirely too much red wine at the Quadraphenia show with Pete Townsend and Billy Idol. Pretty freaked phenomenal show, but it made for a rough morning, and an even rougher run.
edit : I don't know why all my images always load wrong.
I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...iscariot
good on you two for getting out and running hungover- I'm still languishing around the house trying to fund something greasy to eat
but you've motivated me to head out- there's nothing like punishing a hangover out of your system
skid luxury
Only the first few miles really hurt, and if you don't puke, the rest of the run is almost plesent.
I ran my first half marathon after drinking way too many craft IPAs until well after midnight. The first five miles were hell, but then I metabolized the alcohol. It might even fueled the run as it is my fastest half to date.

You weren't drinking.
You were carb loading!
I had some pretty good hangover runs, although it's been a long time cuz I learned my lesson
Waterfront around ATT Park this last many years since I've been going. This year was the best course since it moved there. Great view the whole way (in many ways)
I was saving for a final sprint but tripped on the drawbridge and gnarled my hand. Good medical staff there...of course. While in the med tent several people were brought in unconscious and I mean out.
Happy with 8:00 minute pace since I only did cross train. No running.
Warm and humid this year but I know what you mean. It's been low 50's most years. The humid air was easy to breath.
Good work
When I start to slip into self-pity mode re the end of my running days, I think of Dave Mackey and abruptly snap out of it. RW: Ultrarunner Dave Mackey Loses a Leg and Learns to Run Again
I focus on a cold beer during various parts of my trail run.
Might sound crazy but yoga has vastly improved my running. Noticibly better breathing and alignment.

^^^Not the least bit surprised. Increased flexibility, balance, mindfulness, breath control, visions of hot girls in yoga pants to overcome mind numbing long trail miles.

Speaking of alignment.
Lately developed some hip and lower back pain from changing walking & running foam involuntary because of broken toe.
Yesterday my massage therapist really worked hard on my lower back, gluts and hips.
Now I'm barely walking because of the pain, but I know I'll feel so much better tomorrow.
Whenever my toe heals, I should probably do some yoga and pilates for realignment.
Good luck with the hip and back, nutmeg. When I trained for and ran ultras I always had a sore back and right hip after long runs.
Did that many times. Ultrarunners are big beer drinkers. I've seen more beer downed in post-ultra parties than in Lot 4. No, I'm not kidding.
I almost always have hip and back soreness after a long run. I tend to get my hips really tight, which pulls everything out of alignment, especially in my lower back.
Good luck in Chicago!
Therapist told me my left leg is half an inch longer than right.
I'm that much off alignment right now.
This running thing is making me crippled.
Because of center of gravity, women tend to have more hip issues than men.
At least that what I was told.
Thank you, Jenny!
For now, I just wanna come in 5 hours.![]()
New mattress also totally helped my back and sciatica pain from running, riding, etc.
I was a fucking gazelle yesterday after Kundalini in the morning, what took me so long to figure that out??

Hamptons marathon this weekend- should be flat but HOT, which is a concern for my pasty Irish arse. Feel like I have not trained that hard but have a 20 and two 18s under my belt, all of the training super hilly compared with the course
