Hope you like em!
I'm sure it will deliver! Also good to know about demo grabs from the factory. I'll bring some tasty local craft brews.. Can you generally deal with a 3 day turn around while at Bachelor? Fleet have 189's?

Get her 166s. She's not that big/tall and is pretty new to skiing... She'll like the shorter length when things get bumpy or when you drag her through the trees.

She's currently riding a 167, Salomon q85. On3p measures a little bit longer than the stated number right?

my on3p skis measure true to size. straight pull 184 = 184. I'd bet that's consistent across all models.

(edit: I just posted my 15/16 BG in GS)

A 189 Wren 114 is plenty, I'd be dammm stoked with that length..

Im still debating whether I get one of those, or the Super Goats..

Wait, what? You've been on the bullhorn clamoring for a longer Goat for a long time, and the older Wrens (which you own) are 113 underfoot. So it seems like the Super Goat is a no-brainer.

They still won't be long enough. He needs the ultra goat. 210cm of goat.

Precisely, but I know that will never happen. Maybe when I get rich, Ill just pay for the 201cm beefmaster Mold. Ill take what I can get right now. 193 Super Goats sound really, really good.

As long as I can get Merica topsheets(or if there's a special Super Goat topsheet), Count me in, 3/5. U

Sounds like the 189 Wren 114 will be produced more often?? I want, but cant afford two pairs at retail right now. Will that be a regular ski for 2018, or is it only special order?

Not trying to be all up in your bidness, but I'm curious about your interest in a 2018 189 Wren 114 when you already own a 191 Wren 113 and a 189 RX heavy core, flex 5.

Is it that the rocker profile of the 2018 is more pow-oriented (than the older versions) so a 114 waisted 2018 Wren is basically a chargey pow ski as opposed to a wider charging ski? But still, it seems like the Super Goat + older Wren + C&D + RX pretty much covers your pow ski variations. If you really want something larger, try to find the 202 Lotus 138 in a rocker 2 version. Those are truly foot missiles.

Anyone know what a 98 wren would weigh in a light lay up? 184 length would be adequate
I tour on the stock wren 98 and it's fine. They're already softer than the 108's so I wouldn't want to go any softer just to save a few grams, personally.

My interest in the Wren is purely insanity. I just like those types of skis, and collect them. My 191 Wrens are my favorite ski I have ever owned, narrowly beating out Katanas and BGs. The change in rocker profile only adds fuel to my fire for overlap. I also put a gigantic shot in the wrens last year, from a Megalodon shark at Squaw, and they may become my rock skis this year, so having a backup of my favorite ski wouldnt be the worst idea.. Im positive mine will still last a while though.

I am most definitely covered for the deep. I have two other pairs of Billy Goats, as well as some hellbents for gettin' weird.

Foot missiles sound sweet. Ill have to try a pair of those DPS out. Last thing I need though, is another company that I lust for. On3p and Praxis already have me on the hook.

^^DPS makes a lot of skis for gapers with a few awesome models once and a while. That specific model has a cult following here that started before I was on the board.

Buy Wren's 191 Wrens in Gear Swap as cheap backup. Seriously. The new Wren is neutered comparatively, and also much more expensive.

He already sold them. I was close to buying them, but missed out. Now I regret it.

I flex'd some DPS at the Hostel in Teton Village a few years ago that was an absolute plank. Hands down the stiffest ski I have ever flexed. Stiffer than my Monster 108s, but probably a full kilogram lighter.

Ski Bowl and Timberline are great and happy to host us, so we will make it there some days this year for sure.

Do note, too, you can demo direct out of the factory. For Hood, I would recommend 2 skis from the following:

    Everyday:
    Kartel 108 or Wrenegade 108

    Soft Days:
    Kartel 116 or Billy Goat

All depends on your style and can vary between days. For example, I prefer a Kartel 108 and Billy Goat quiver - one more playful (everyday), one more directional (powder).

You would likely be looking 186cm in Kartels and 184cm in Wren/BG.

If you can, swing by the factory and we'd be happy to walk you through the skis in person.

Just bring us some beer (not Widmer ) and we can get you set up. During the mid-to-late winter, we are travelling a lot though so I'd try and do so as early as you can.
Thank you for the feedback. I will setup a time to come by the factory and meet in person.

I'd been saving some of that glorious spiced IPA by Widmer a few years back, just for this occasion. It is disappointing to hear that won't work!

With all this talk, the "itch" is starting within.

Within 2 months, a lot of us will be on snow. Are you guys ready? I hope you're doing your squat thrusts.

I bought these cheap, and need to upgrade significantly. I have heard NOTHING but good things about ON3P. Demo'ing does not seem to be a good option at the mountains I ski...so I come here to ask for advice. What ski would you suggest?

Want much more float for pow days. (Would also happily not jump on the k2's for groomer days either...but am only buying 1 set of skis...)
Still will likely snowboard on those real deep days, but would love for this ski to make me think otherwise...yet still perform well on groomers. (Perhaps I am asking for to much out of 1 ski)

    I lean towards:

    Wrenegade 108. (Probably 184's)
    Billy Goats Probably 184 too

I live in Portland, so may just schedule a drop in to the factory to talk in person, but thought I'd start here first to get the wisdom of the crowd!

    Thanks.
    Hey puma,
It may not be as foolproof as demoing direct from ON3P for Bachelor weekends, but you are welcome to try any of my ON3P skis for Bachelor if we can connect throughout the coming winter. The caveat is I won’t have Bachelor weekend privileges and I may be galavanting around the west seeking Mountain Collective pass usage with some of these sticks in tow.

All are mounted for 315mm BSL, although Tychoon may be on the chopping block soon due to recent Wren 88 addition:

    Wrenegade 88 (184)
    Tychoon 96 (186)
    Steeple 102 veneer (184)
    Billy Goat (186, 13/14 model)

Even though I don’t own a set, the Kartel 108 (186) would be my first recommendation for you to try.

Why not just add the new Cast setup to that rig? Wren 108s don't weigh a ton , and you already have pivots, assuming 18s or compatible 15s.

Man were the Tychoons good skis! Super easy ski that could still hang on at speed, handled the park very well for a directional ski (like a tst), slayed bumps and firm tree areas like a champ, worked in powder, and could heartcarve like a boss.

Ya sorry to all for any of my Pre-Summer attitude problems. I injured my back (just barely) last January and ruined the best season Tahoe's ever had. I was a stressed out crankpot, and wasnt myself.

Thread drift ... anyone been on 2015/16 Jeffrey 122s? I have a proto pair in 181cm that, due to laziness and a previous mount, are mounted at around +2.5cm from the dimple (aka -2.5cm from ski center). Am I going to be going over the handlebars all the time? Should I learn how to ski switch? Could also move the heel back and use a 310mm BSL boot instead of 301mm.

Additional info: 5'9", 135lbs, really like 187 Hojis on the line, ex XC ski racer, don't really know how to drive a ski.
