+ 2.5 is a long ways to be ahead of the recommended line on an on3p ski, regardless of the model. I would remount them.

Am I going to be going over the handlebars all the time? Should I learn how to ski switch? Could also move the heel back and use a 310mm BSL boot instead of 301mm.

Additional info: 5'9", 135lbs, really like 187 Hojis on the line, ex XC ski racer, don't really know how to drive a ski.
I'd ski them before you move the mount (nothing to lose by trying them first). You are really light, so you might be fine.

Much to my deep, deep pain, a lot of our team guys skied those +3 or +4 (center) from the mark and preferred them there...
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

That's good to hear, thanks. I'll give them a shot as is.

What ever happened to those oar skis?

Is there a reason the billygoat tours weren't called hillbillys?

Such a perfect name! Maybe they'll switch it to that from the Steeple since David left the team.

I'm really tempted by the super goats. I've never bought a ski at retail nor an on3p but these may change that... especially if there is a mag pre-order deal...

I think the idea of making 5 custom super premium handmade 193 Supergoat skis is that the boys at ON3P can sell them without discounting them and at least recover some cash/get some good karma bro advertising for the Clydesdale's on here.

They do sound like a sick ride for the few that can handle them AND actually have the time and space to use the burl.

I fucking miss the original 186 BG, my newer 184's give me no dick waving swagger even though they ski such better. Can we get an Old Man Goat in 186? Might make me feel better about my sagging balls.

I think they can sell more than 5 pairs.

You might be right. Put together a pre order with cash up front and you probably should score a bit of a discount.

Without that I think they look to sell 5 pairs at rack and call it good. I am just trying to look at it from their perspective. Small company. They aren't getting rich. The skis are material and capital intensive which is why we love them. They don't want a bunch of unsold inventory tying up capitol for next year's newest ideas.

The Super Goat will be the same thing your athlete Dennis is on right?? Not something toned down for mortals.

I need a superbeast to fill the hole my 196 Governors left when I regrettably sold them.

It is. Only real change to it is a slightly lower tail rocker.

    Yup...
One way to play this might be to see how many here would sign up for that at "retail". IF, it's enough, then work the numbers to figure out what sort of quantity it would take to offer a group buy discount on a larger production run and see if thats enough to motivate mags to push this along to other skiers they know, that they think might also be interested in (and could benefit from) a SG. Sort of a word of mouth, crowd sourced sales campaign. I doubt this would work for most products, but these particular skis (and the brand) seem to have the rep and momentum to pull it off.

    OR, "Kickstart" a production run.
I have been seeing established brands in other spaces do this with niche product launches in the past few years.

I misread that post, Im just so excited i rushed.. I was a little confused. Sounds like the perfect Big Sky pow charger.

    So its;
    193cm
    Asymmetrical
    Slightly less tail rocker
    Slightly stiffer flex
And will be close to perfection

I cant wait for the champagne room, Ill be checking that out once a week.

If you're asking for a small batch of one-off skis... expecting a discount is a bit much. Having them not be *more* expensive is generous enough IMO.

Pretty fkn tempted by this. Pondering a gear purge to acquire Super goats... just not quite sure if I need them as the 191 is pretty capable for my size, or if I'd really use them... gaaah... maybe I'll get in line now for sloppy seconds when one of you poseurs decided these skis are too much for your goat-balls. 315mm BSL, pivots, please. 😁

Nobody is asking for anything beyond a longer BG. Ideas above (are just that), consider what a niche, product production run business model might look like for a group buy over a threshold that would be profitable for the MFG.... So, yeah...

4-5 of us in this thread have shown interest in a ski they've already developed and are offering to put cash up front. If Iggy is releasing the ski and expects to sell no more than 5 pair and we generate sales exceeding that number as part of a group-buy/presale, why is it "a bit much" to request a modest discount?

I do not expect it to be less expensive at retail than the 189 BG, but I'm certainly hoping that it's not significantly more.

This is an indie ski brand, not Salomon.

I'm just shopping for a 184 ish Wren or Kartel of undecided width this year. After a dinner and a couple three beers I jumped into this conversation last night with my two cents. Probably should have kept my mouth shut. Looking forward to seeing what happens with the SG !

Its pretty amazing we can discuss and provide direct input to the decision makers / designers / owners. It seems many tgr voices have been heard. Help build them up and spread brand awareness which ultimately helps them pursue the skis YOU want developed. Would hate for the brand to not feel the love, by people being chintzy.
