Got out at Heavenly today (bailed early as it got too warm), and I really can't wait for my Kartel 98's to arrive. The wife was having a blast on her Wren 88's, but once again these stupid, noodly, unsupportive pieces of crap called Kye 95's let me down. "When, Lord, when's gonna be my time?!?" (for some Kartel 98 love)

Will be headed back to Heavenly again tomorrow, as it's going to be warm in Tahoe, but coolest there... Thursday will be a Kirkwood day since it's "supposed" to snow and I can get back on my Billygoats.

The lady was amped. Even more so when I mentioned they have real bits of panther in them.

Looks damn nice, and I can smell the panther from here. Looks like I got the wrong bindings! (Nice color)

Been on my Wren 108s the past two days. 3" overnight Monday and the 0" overnight today. I wanted them as a softer snow ski but I was so stoked to get on these and 3" was plenty.

Holy shit, they go. Fast. Cruised some soft groomers for a bit and wasn't at all surprised by the speed they were capable of. Felt so goddamn good blasting side hits, hips and cat tracks. Extremely responsive and at times just felt like they wanted to be in the air. Didn't land or ski them switch as my trick list consists of daffies and spread eagles.

Turned great through the big, shitty, dust on crust bumps except when I got lazy and got my ass handed to me a few times. As it's been said on here before, there is no room for lackadaisical skiing on Wrenegades (a lesson I learn and re-learn often).

Took them to the steeps (3" over winter-ish, chalky snow) and once again super stoked as I expected. They turned very well in tight, steep trees in the entrances. Once in the chute proper I had many "holy shit these are fast" moments. An absolute delight straight lining over smaller, soft bumps and slarving flat-ish chalky snow. I felt like I could hardly deviate from the fall line in a really really good way, of course.

Stoked to take them out next storm cycle and hopefully get them in some deeper snow.

Big thanks to Scott and all the homies in the factory.

seems the right size, I'd get a 176cm for me but 5'5" and 150, you sure want the 181! I ski the 176 BG and sometimes I wish it was longer, maybe asym 179cm is in my future! :-)

Doubtful you would regret the 181.

Found a deal on the color steeze tyrolias and they had a favorable review from some ladies on the internets. Didn't realize brake screws are the mounting screws though.

Plus she really needed that 12 din the way I picture her skiing and now we will both be strutting ON3P around the local hill. Folks will think I'm a dentist finally.

Those 98 Wrens ski great. I can't wait to get them on some untracked fresh, but their performance on fast icy groomers rocks. Definitely not a carving ski, but much less scary than my 110 underfoot Sickles on hardpack. The 98's are fun and turny and remind me a lot of my Viciks. On the soft corn they performed great, nice to change up a set of turns with a few short hops here and there and then open them up if you want. If you let them find their speed limit, which there is one, they are remarkably stable, like all of ON3P's lineup. Their tips blast through the piles of corn, again, just like my Viciks. Every once and a while I'd get in the backseat, these skis like to be driven and you'll get slapped if you get too far back on these.
Thanks you guys. Customer for life.
You are welcome. Glad you are enjoying those sticks!
You should have been here yesterday!

What length did you get? My lady has been on 166 cm G3 Zests for 5 years. She's picky and tends to stick with what she knows/likes, but she is interested in beefing it up. The Jessie 108s in 171 are on my list for her. I am sure if I could scratch out 171 and stencil in 166, she wouldn't know the difference. But knowing there is a difference will likely make a difference. However, 161 seems short to me -- she's 5'5", 130 lb and technically proficient but not a fast charger.

I saw the new Sander Hadley edit, did I miss something by not watching the msp film this fall? That is disappointing, although I guess made enough sense to him.

So what ski is Dennis Risvoll skiing in the FWT this year?

There was some mention somewhere that ON3P built him a Billy Goat with a stiffer flex and less tail rocker.

Moving to Scott was the right move for him. He's working hard on advancing his film career and they will be able to support that better than we can. We think ski media is largely going a different direction as well, so just on different paths. He's an awesome skier and an even better guy. We'll always be rooting for him. As you can tell by his latest edit, he isn't slowing down.

193cm BG Proto with less tail rocker + stiffer flex.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

missus is 5'10'' 130 and went 171. Solid skier but not bashing gates when turning. Could have also gone with 176 me thinks as these have a pretty short effective edge.

Agreed. My wife weighs maybe 10lbs more. I got her 161s and now really wish I'd gone 171 or even 176 (which would be about the same effective edge as the 166 Black Pearls she'd been on). Fortunately, they'll be great for my kid next year, (unless someone's teeny, tiny wife/girlfiend/etc. is looking for a pair of 161s skied 1 time).

    98s or 108s?

And thanks for the feedback. I'll go 171 (^^^^ that question is for someone else).

Cool. Exactly what I would have done to my BGs to make them stomp cliffs better.

I thought you liked full rocker skis for stomping cliffs?

I'm not sure which of 2 points you're getting at, so I'll address both:

    1) I like reverse camber. Very different from tail rocker. Look at a Renegade tail, then look at a BG tail. I'd pretty much call the Renegade tail flat, the BG definitely is not (at least my 12/13 weren't).

    2) If you made the BG full reverse it'd be a different ski. I was talking about what I'd change about the BG (and still be able to call it a BG).

    Hey y'all,

big time Praxis fan here but have been itching to get on some On3ps. I'm working my way thru all of the posts to get a sense of which ski will be best for my wants + quiver. But, obviously I'd love to get some on my feet to get a real sense of how they ski.

Since there are no dealers or demo days scheduled for Tahoe, does anyone have the 108 or 98 Wrens around Squaw I could try out? I'm leaning most towards either of those. I'm in 25.5 boots. Would be more than happy to swap for my 182 GPOs if you've been wanting to try those out.

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers!

Holy crap... rode this morning at Northstar in some fresh (heavy and wet but still fresh). Really gave me a chance to drive the BG's in their element. All I can say is wow... this ski is magical. I'm amazed by how much pressure I can maintain on the tips without them diving at all.

this is what this ski was made for. THANK YOU ON3P for building me such masterful skis!!!

(Oh, a Ski Patroller noticed my wife's ON3P's and commented that besides his, we're the first ON3P riders he'd encountered. Really made her feel like we belong to an exclusive club)

So maybe I missed it along this thread or on the internet but what are some of the changes for 17/18 lineup? I was looking at picking up a BG but since the rumor mill is strong about them being asymmetrical for 17/18 I was going to wait. Any updates?
