I thought it was worth watching. No idea how accurate it is though, also haven't seen the other doc you mention.

Yeah I meant to type coma, fixed
Just watch 1 last night, very good and very accurate.
Not sure what this means??? It's not racing unless a minor mistake has the potential to kill you???A lot of focus on safety issues though, important stuff yeah, but they're not racing exactly.

Good to see F1 back in Austria (and to see Vettel/Red Bull lose on their home track).
I was pulling for Williams so Massa could have said a big "fuck you" to Ferrari. I hope he still gets his chance.

Yeah it's kind of a stupid comment, as that's pretty much what the movie is about. What I was trying to say is that towards the end of the movie it gets a bit dull as they essentially document the safety improvements that have been made and discuss the politics of the drivers' union that drove the changes and whatnot. When they were showing the mass carnage on unsafe, deadly courses it was riveting. Human nature I guess? Or my nature at least.
...but Alonso wouldn't let Vettel pass
Fun to watch, but Vettel was whining like a little girl, although it appears Ferrari was also whining about Vettel putting four off. Kind of sad when the epitome of motor sports ends up in a whining match, at least is NASCAR they just punch each other![]()

Entertaining race today, I may watch the replay.

Ottime
Best race in a long time. How about Hamilton coming from last to 3rd 2 races in a row. Ricciardo is the real deal. Alonso fantastic as always in a lesser car. For the first time in a long time I really look forward to the second half of the season. Those double point races at the end loom large right now.

Bernie negotiates payment of $60m in order to bring $44m bribery trial to an end..... plus of course the $16m he's already paid to the inland revenue to avoid investigation of the unpaid taxes on about a billion or so which the $44m bribe was about in the first place.
Fantastic race in Japan marred by the accident at the end. Why on earth did the promoters not move the race up a few hours. Supposedly the weather was too bad for the life flight helicopter to take off. They should have stopped the race earlier.

Conditions weren't that bad, they were still on inters for the most part. This isn't Indy cars.
Don't know details yet, but it sounds like Bianchi screwed up big time to loose it under yellow. Hope all is well. Appears he has had surgery and is breathing on his own. Vibes

It had started raining very hard, worn inters, dusk, Dunlop curve is notoriously difficult in the wet. But yeah crashing under yellows is largely down to him. It was only a matter of time before someone hit one these cranes though, If he'd "only" hit Sutil's stranded car he'd probably have unbuckled and climbed out. Le Mans style mandatory slow zones the answer? Also I did read something about a green flag being waved - in front of the accident.
What a cluster fuck of a day though... should have run the race earlier before the storm arrived if not for the racing then to give the fans, teams and circuit workers a chance to get away.
Sad to read about Andrea de Cesaris death.

Thanks for the link. I looked like he was going really fast when he hit. Much faster than I imagined in those conditions under a yellow.

That explains the head injury, talk about everything going exactly wrong![]()

In other news Alonso seems to have got himself in quite the bind over where, for how much and for how long he drives next season.
Apparently the wheels completely came off the relationship with Ferrari during a meeting a few weeks back at Maranello which ended with him storming out after calling Marco Mattiacci a son of a bitch.
Well he probably is, but that is beside the point.
Staying at Ferrari with a mediocre car like this season wouldn't have done him any good. Is Vettel really going to Ferrari with all its troubles, or possibly McLearn with Alonso. Or is Hamilton going to McLearn?
The silly season at its best. The rumor mill at the Russian GP is going to be more interesting then the actual GP.
