Thanks Schralph, but that pic was taken a couple of summers ago. That area is under 10+' of snow right now. I just posted it because I finally got it looking the way I wanted it. I've screwed around with that pic more than any other in Lightroom 'cause I knew it had potential but I could just never get it looking good. I finally figured out I needed to pull down the blue channel in the shadows. Once I did that all the colors popped. Before that the darker areas in the pic were just muddy looking with poor detail and I couldn't bring them up enough without losing contrast.

That's a jpeg from my old D200 with the 18-35 f3.5-4.5 lens. Would've come out even better if it was a raw file from my current combo.

Going under the knife for my left knee on 4/9. Going under again for the shoulder in late May or early June.

Edit: Fuzz - this is as close as it gets. Unfortunately, blown highlights and lots of haze in the distance.

Nice shot Willie! I'd love to see more of those trees in the foreground.

Here's one from my recent adventure to Alaska:

Here's one from sunrise at Monument Valley a couple of days ago. I just got back yesterday from an "epic" southwest road trip so I'll be sure to post a proper TR once I go through the 500+ pictures this weekend.

Two big events in Crested Butte in the last 24 hours. Last night at mid night, the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse started.

Then, today there was the Subaru Freeride Series free skiing competition.

When you use a chairlift to access a peak that's more than five miles away, does it still count as slackcountry?

Far (it's the one on the right):

    Near:

Some killer shots on this page, especially CW's.

So in 28 years living here I've never seen jet contrails or chemtrails like I saw the other day in our skies. They were everywhere with planes flying side by side. These trails lasted more than 6 hours. So is someone spraying shit on us or were the atmospheric conditions right to hold these trails so long??? We had around 40 trails in the sky by 10am, need to start paying attention to see if we get that much high altitude flyovers.

This is just the view to the southwest, they were as thick in every direction.

First Bison calf I've seen hit the ground this spring in Yellowstone. The wolf was snoozing about a mile to the south until he caught the scent.

Are you sure that is a wolf, and not a coyote?

His name is #755, used to be the alpha male in the Lamar pack. He is a loner now.

Strange, from that angle at least, I would have been sure he was a coyote... I guess its easier to see wolves when you can track them?

Yeah, this is a repeat from last year, but I just went through all these pics and got them uploaded to my new photo hosting site. If you like owls,
