^^ tough act to follow! I haven't done too much experimenting with longer shutter speeds, went out today with the tripod and tried to figure it out a bit...

i find that for the longer shutter speeds and rivers it works better with a little less flow so there is a good mixture of calm water as well. splitter has this down pat, and he can get his dog to sit still for the long exposure too. sometimes i think it's a stuffed dog.

i was working on it more last year than this year (not a good example of what i was saying)
powdork.com - new and improved, with 20% more dork.

totally get what you're saying, I'm sure I'll try it some more...it's full on spring freshet right now though and I kinda wanted to capture the volume somewhat which I think I did...just realized that it cut off the right edge of the photo, I need to start using something other than facebook linking!

A couple from last night's northern lights session. Timelapse to follow perhaps.

Damn Wilbert, nice job. How the hell are you still getting northern lights? I'm so far north right now that we have 24 hours of sun! Can't wait to get these RAW files on my home computer, instead of this Macbook Air with Canon DPP.

A fine day in the Lyngen Alps on thursday:

400gb?!?!! How many photos is that total?

The sky didn't actually get dark here till midnight. Then the moon needed another hour to set. Supposed to get another light show tonight, I'll see if I can make it.

Wow, wanted to fix my last post. I realized that unless you flatten the smart layer when resizing an HDR efex pro clip it will totally fuck it up.

Looks like an unbelievable trip! Hope you're going to put up a full TR (with some details on the logistics). I have a safari trip on my bucket list, but probably when our son is a few years older.
