Yeah, we always seem to have a jan thaw. Good to hear it'll be coming. We need a bit more stability in the snowpack in order to line up the rest of the year for good BC.

Think they'll control and open the Mirkwood hike-to for tomorrow? ... Looks like it's closed today. Haven't skied Monarch much.

If mirkwood was ready, my guess would be that they'd hold off opening until Saturday. I hope I'm wrong.

I do not believe Mirk will open tomorrow...if it opens after this storm, my guess would be Sat/Sun.
You should have been here yesterday!

Doesn't look like much is happening at Copper. 1" on the snow stake cam.

Steamboat looks like the big winner. 9" last night, 15" by 9am and it hasn't stopped snowing....

Yeah, Copper has been ground zero for the SummCo snowfall donut hole. Hope you CB dudes keep getting it, we're looking to get down there early March.

It snowed pretty much the whole time I was on vail tmn today at upper elevations.

This storm is orographic as hell...it'd be snowing good and hard up top but drop a couple thousand feet and nothing.

The last couple days have been great! Blower and knee deep if you take advantage of the orographics and windloading.

Couple inches in Edwards since 5 or so. O can only imagine its been coming down nice up high.

I was the 2nd person down Walsh's this morning, patroller dropped the rope right as I was skiing up to it and I didn't even need to slow down. Blew past about 40 people who had been standing there waiting at the rope for who knows how long. Not even a little bit sorry, it was as good as it gets. I was coughing up snow at the bottom.

Ahhhh, Champagne Powder © We’re heading up there tomorrow.

How’s the crowds? Is Pioneer Ridge filled in nice? Any general areas that are skiing well? Gracias.

Nice work!!! Snowmass didn't suck today either... I didn't have a chance to chase any ropes, but everything was starting to fill in.

    Finally feeling like winter

After New Year's looks like storms are taking a break for a bit. Its a fairly complicated upper level pattern, so won't prognosticate when the storm track returns, but second week of January looks promising.

super cold but fun pow conditions on loveland pass yesterday. Didn't ski anything super steep as the layers were cracking beneath our feet even at about 25 degrees. so after a couple tree laps we built a fun lil' booter.

    sorry for the blurry pic...

Any recent field reports from Silverton?

RMNP was cold but with some decent wind drifted snow yesterday.
