I was pretty sure it poured overnight at the hill.
When it rains that much and they report only 4cm and then a revised lower beat down report of 2cm and a high of 6 degrees C its time to look elsewhere. It can't have not rained at the hill overnight.

It started to snow later. Glad it skiied well - I wasn't gambling at those prices. OK if you are seasons.

Here's an update for sourcing stainless M5 screws for inserts in cow-town.

I went down to Brafasco, and they had a good selection and reasonable prices. No minimum order amount or anything like that.

Check them out if you're looking for hardware. They're located in the HD supply store.

    5760 9th St. S.E. Unit 101

Have a great weekend out there!

I just installed some binding freedom inserts into my skis, but am having trouble sourcing stainless steel M5's around town. Has anybody found a local source for screws?

    thanks!

Hang on, does that mean you will be skiing on two mono skis? Isn't that just regular fat ski skiing?

I dunno if any of you north rockies mags would be interested but I'm going on a cabin trip (march 2nd -9th ish) and there is room for a couple more bodies. It is outta the way (Prince George is the staging point) and is a bit of a slog to get in (12km) but the skiing is pretty good, the snow is usually excelent and there are no crowds. I posted it in the hook up.
I don't work and I don't save, desperate women pay my way.

    You might be right.
Fernie might be too warm though...will wait and see.

Edit: Looks like Fernie is cooling down.

Likely hitting SSV on Sat and Castle on Sunday....or just Castle
    Upslope pleeezzzze.

Darn, you quoted my prediction, so I can't go back and edit it when the 4 p.m. weather data comes out.

I'll still probably be more accurate than the Welsh lads at www.snow-forecastguess.com

Don't know about Castle, as it's defiantly not an upslope storm. It's coming across from the west. -3 C and snowing hard at Ktown.

Good night to go night skiing. If there's one thing more prone to carnage than the Kimberley rail park, it's the rail park under inadequate lighting in a snowstorm.

    Eldoforecast.com seems realistic.

The data is far from perfect. Right now looks like hwy 3 is gonna get it but I wouldnt rule out face shots further north. Convection this time of year can really mess up the forecast.

That's laughable. Its physics and its automated, so besides being stupid hard to pull off without looking not-smart, anyone who knows the weather would figure out that something isn't right pretty quick and then what.

delirium did not suck today. haze and fat boy were skiing very nicely aswell.

My forecast reads " huge pile up on highway 1 going west from calgary. road closed for 48hrs how unfortunate because SSV gets 48cms"

    yep. its science

Except what good does a pile up east of Calgary do you? You trying to protect a stash in Medicine Hat or something?
