I'd suggest you stop digging that hole any further........ On the plus side, glad to see someone still uses reading week for reading. Just don't change your major to reading comprehension.

????????????????....convective heating is alot more pronounced around here in late spring and summer.

The temperatures and freezing levels in the forecasts are normally pretty spot on, the precip on the other hand not so much but if you look at all of the differenct sources, weatheroffice, weather network, snow forecastfail, and the avy reports you can get a pretty good idea if they are all generally in agreement and things are some what predictable or if they are all different and none agree you can bet that it's hit or miss as to where they are going to end up. When they all agree like right now at least you can bet at least some snow is coming in.

I'm betting on Eldo forecast for the KH numbers and not quite enough to be worth battling the weekend bottle neck fuck crowds.

Haha. The forecast calls for funny in this thread.

May have to upgrade those snowfall predictions. Just came back from night skiing and already about 10 new.

Too bad the people upstairs from me (who have been practicing their Riverdance routine for the past week wearing wooden shoes) have to head back to Saskatchewan in the morning. Assuming the highway is not closed east of Calgary.

Convection is more pronounced in spring and summer but it still goes on all year. I should have said it has more potential to screw up the forecast now than it did over the last few months. I just tend to blame convection when the site's are wrong. It's usually at least partially to blame.

Anyway we'll see. The models seem to be consistent but they all run off roughly the same initial conditions.. Sometimes they're all way off.

    anyway nuff outta me.

Both SSV and LL have their's on sale now. I think LL starts Mar 1, and SSV Mar 15, but I'm too lazy to look up the exact dates or prices for you...

Uh oh. That doesn't necessarily sound good, even though this is a ski forum.

Perfect timing, I am looking to sell my camper van!

Seriously though, I recently did the whole reevaluation thing myself, and came out the other side in a better place. Figure out with your family what to do, then do it.

But whatever happens, don't stop posting here, that would just be crazy.

without switching industries most of the work that i can do is in the US. i (family included) would not go back there for longer than a cordial flight transfer. it's a beautiful place, but ruined.

everybody is happy in cowtown. i only need to find something more fun to do that gives me enough fridays to avoid the crowds on the hill.

ps: does your van look anything like this? i'm buying if so!

For snowpack, storms, and just general ski quality spring is the better skiing option as far as taking chunks of time off.

I'm banking on people being tired from family day weekend still.

Roommate said there was ~8cm that fell at the hill today.

Please elaborate. The wife and I are seriously considering making the move from Calgary to Fernie. Somedays I think it's a no brainer, other days I think it's a foolish dream.

Looked it up, that back area can be used for sleeping or storage. There is also a double bed up top, so if there is only 2 of you, you can leave the back bed out, and you have a huge area for storage of bikes etc. There is even a back door to it, so easy to load/unload. Really cool idea.

The catch? They seem to start at 87 grand US.

Depends what your priorities are and there will always be a million reasons to not do it. If you're the type that needs just a bit more money, buffer, comfort to do it then it'll never happen. I've met ALOT of people in the past 15 years that always say next year or the year after and it never comes and they're in the same place doing the same comfortable thing making that extra paycheque to do it next year.

KH definitely lost the snow battle last night, we'll have to see what today brings. Crowds should be fewer this weekend and if it warms up as much as their forecasting, highway 1 E and W out of Golden will be closed. Although this isn't going to help the stability out there, spooky would be a good word to use.
