I was on the Mustang website yesterday and saw that our usual two-day Dec. 22-23 trip still had space and was only $600! Then I realized it was $600 a day, not the $300 or $350/day we used to get.

Probably can't afford it this season, although I have some lottery tickets that I should check the numbers.

Oh, someone mentioned in the B.C. Interior thread that Revy will open Nov. 26, so fire up those engines, gents.

Jumbo seems to be in the news a lot lately. Is it really that close to being approved /rejected?

Yes, but unconfirmed at this point. I'll let you know as soon as they make a decision.
Flying the Bluehouse colors in Western Canada! Let me know if you want some rad skis!!

I was hoping they wouldn't do that so I can stay at work a few extra days. I should know better than to think I can last more than 21 days straight up here. Oh well...i'll get over it before I even leave here.

I received an email from Sunshine saying they were opening on the 17th (a believe that's a day earlier then their original date). I was kind of excited, until I saw they will only have Strawberry, Jackrabbit, Wawa, and Wolverine running. I might head up, or I might just stick to Nakiska as skiing is free with my Fernie pass. Anyone else planning to go?

Isn't it actually nearly a week later than the original date?

    -------------Edit below to add:
If your skiing in the back country now is a good time to take a first aid course

I usually push the 1 or 2 week courses but it's too easy for people to make excuses to not take them. There's really no excuse to have no first aid knowledge other than being either ignorant or selfish or a combination of both.

So not nearly as good as it appears to be at "COP", but not too bad today at the Lake for the opening of TOW and the Platter. Pretty much only Outer Limits open, but didn't hit a thing on 5 laps of it along the rope line. Very supportive along a big wind lip. Much less supportive under TOW, but still got in a couple of laps only hitting some shrubs. With the weekend crowd packing things down, and more snow in the forecast for next week, I'd say off to a pretty good start. Certainly more supportive snowpack than this time last year.

Pretty sure the Gondola opening tomorrow will just be some easy groomers. I wouldn't say anything worth the expected -22 tomorrow morning.

Well...you can always NOT go skiing and do whatever else it is you do, or you can just go...turns are gauranteed.

And the dogs will have no problem finding you with your avalanche bacon if you get slid.
