Here are a few that I shot in January 2010 in the Mammoth Lakes and Mono County region that I finally processed and posted to my smugmug.

Gebster, loving the colors. What time of day? Love the layering of textures/light in #3.

A few from Yose last weekend ... the valley pano was handheld unfortunately as the light was moving fast and I was planning on running to a pre-scouted spot (and of course when I got there the light was toast).

    Damn, yosemite is melted out!

Scientific fact: I catch more random shooting stars than 90% of the people who actually try.

Great photos of the Valley!!! How long does it take to get up there from the Bay? I gotta go up soon to visit Walnut Creek and looking for some ideas for the weekend other than hitting the North Face outlet in Berkeley

My Mono Lake photos were at sunset after a great day of skiing June Mountain

And by tomorrow it might be flooded out! All the roads to Yose closed yesterday!

Thanks Geb, from Walnut Creek it's well under 3 hours to the park entrance - Google directions should be just about right. Then another 30 to 60 minutes into the Valley depending on who is in front of you and how many of the roadside vista stops you want to make. Not busy this time of year even on weekends especially early early AM. If you do go on a weekend though, I suggest leaving early from the WC (like by 7 AM) just to avoid getting stuck behind people who don't know what turnouts are used for. I'll send you a PM with more details. Bring gaiters or waders if you have them ... the best shooting angles might come from swampy meadows, freezing creeks, or punchy old snow.

When I was there I didn't see any Frazil ice but maybe it might come in April this year, depends on the temps.

I've always had a thing for wood ducks. Taken with the beat up old Tamron 17-50 that Adimmen sold me for cheap. That lens just keeps giving!

Unfortunately I only got one afternoon and evening shooting in Paris, and some pretty ugly weather in Normandy. I'm still sorting through our Christmas Equador trip, one of these days I'll get something together.
