Thanks! I'm loving that lens. It has a super wide aperture at 1.4 so wide open it has a really shallow depth of field. Can create some cool captures. It has a bit of chromatic aberration in my copy which some I've seen don't but what can you ask for a super fast prime that is only $250?

Here's a couple more with it.

    250?

    What lens is that exactly?

The Rokinon 85mm f/1.4. It is a 100% manual lens though. No AF and you have to adjust your aperture on the lens. You absolutely have to use liveview with it too as it is impossible to judge critical focus, even with the nice viewfinder on the 7D.

It isn't a lens for everyone but it is nice considering the comparable from Canon is $2100+ and you only gain .2 in speed and AF.

But look how butter smooth that focus falloff is...

And if you want to see a bunch of pictures with the lens from some better photographers than I am, go here... http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=rokinon%2085#page=2

Thanks man. I don't think I've looked through the viewfinder on my 7D once.

And I've been kind of sorta looking for manual aperture lenses. Whoohoo!

very nice altman! 15mm fish on a full frame, wow you've got me envious right there. It really does look that much different than 10mm on a crop body!
