2008 US Freeskiing tour dates announced

Might be a repeat, can't beleive this got missed. Jim Jack Posted dates on Freeskiers.org last friday:

    2008 SUBARU U.S. FREESKIING SERIES

    *Telluride Freeskiing Open,. Feb 7-10th
*Squaw Valley Freeskiing Open. Feb 14-17, 2008
*Jackson Hole Freeskiing Open. March 13-16, 2008
*U.S Freeskiing Nationals. FWT. snwbrd Ut Mar 18-23, 2008.
*North American Freeskiing Championships. FWT Krkwood.
    March 25-30th, 2008
*Alyeska, AK. FWT Finals Dates TBA(April)

See you all there... I like the Jackson-bird-wood lineup, easy travel over three weekends. To bad they didnt through Squaw in between Bird and wood, that woulda been perfect.

I wanna do JH & the bird, 11 days off will be strech, hopefully I'll get it off from work.

Sqauw is a possibility, but being in feb. it could happen.

    Question
So it seems like it’s a race to registration in order to get into the qualifying round. This doesn’t seem fair for some skiers. For myself with limited experience, it’s like getting a chance to race the Tour de France, because I register on time. I get to push myself and learn a ton about skiing and…myself. However, I will most likely never make it out of qualifying. So, for those who don’t register in time is it tough luck? This doesn’t seem to work in my mind. It’s cool to compete, but who qualifies to qualify? Those with money and the right timing?

It seems like there should be different levels or more competitions like Crystal Mt.

Anyone from the board want to start a new event next year?

This would be fun to go watch at Squaw but who the hell would go there on President's weekend? That's whack. Shame.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

I would concur but I have been there a couple of president's weekends and it's been shockingly empty.
    I was stunned. Shhhh.....

Do I smell a roadtrip? I wonder if we got 4 people if gas would be more or less expensive than flying... hmm.

I'm going to try to hit as many of the stops as possible...with my goal being to finish each run in one piece. Would one guess that Alyeska may be the
2nd week of April? It would be great to be in JH for the last week of it's season then head north.

    Yee-haw.

I just love the look of the list. Badass resorts, all of em. I mean, if you could choose a list of 5 NA resorts to hold these comps at, what would it be?

    Snowbird
    Jackson
    Alyeska
    Squaw
    Whistler

    Otis Ridge, MA

    Mount Southington, CT

    Mount Dubai Ski Dome

    Grass ski France

    oops, not all NA...
