You've been nothing but helpful in stating the facts.
I'm awfully glad the yanks are in the playoffs, I'll tell you what...
what an amazing season for the organization.
the young talent that emerged, posada with his best season ever,
the veterans all coming through......after a season that looked to be a waste, everyone saying they were dead, they pulled together and have played amazing ball in the second half. today is a great day for yankee fans everywhere.
so hate all you want, i don't give a fuck!![]()
So how do the Yanks match up with Cleveland and Boston with Anaheim?

than yankees have been playing their hearts out just to make the playoffs and with a wild card spot wont have much time to rest the bumps and bruises. the streak is mighty admirable given the giant hole the yankees dug themselves out of, but the key players are showing signs of fatigue and its going to catch up with them sooner or later.
well, I've got tickets for Yanks/Orioles at Camden Saturday night. That's going to be a hard fought contest.
PS: I just sat through a Barry Bonds suckup schmoozefest on Sportscenter. Jezuz, do they own stock in this guy? Enough already.
Yanks are 6-0 vs indians this year. Boston does well against anaheim too, but the angels did have the best home record for a while. The yankees are playing well but the indians will pitch carmona and sabathia twice each and they are at home for 3 games...Angels and Red Sox should come down to the bullpens- both teams can hit and score, and both starting staffs will be about even. Escobar/Lackey and Beckett/Schilling the first 2 days then I think Dice K and maybe Saunders game 3. Beckett going twice gives the Sox an edge I think (and being at home).
Decisions Decisions
After reading this article it left me wondering what the Yankee faithful think of Clemens performance this year. Was signing him worth the price?
Current stats to date: 6-6, 4.18 ERA, 99 IP, in 17 starts

Would the Spankees have made the playoff's without him? Maybe they would've won the AL East going with some of the younger guys and/or bringing up an array of rookies?

Werent 3 of the last 4 games for the Skanks extra innings games? Sounds like they will be a bit tired coming into next week.
i'm a diehard mets fan trying to come to grips with things. this coming across my desk didn't help:
Beat the mets, beat the Mets
Last place teams defeat the Mets
Hanging sliders, minor-league speed
Guaranteed to waste a seven run lead
Because the Met bullpen keeps fading away
October baseball won't be at Shea
Mota....Sosa
Every game is now in doubt
Can anyone who's on this staff
Get three men out?
My Mets fan roomate is going through this too. They can still make the playoffs, but their pitching is pretty bad. They are going to have to slug their way to win. There has been a lot of swearing and throwing of objects the past week.
Sox can clinch the division tonight, here's hoping Baltimore can sack up for one more series.
it got so bad last night, when joe smith came in the game, that i had to change the channel. i actually started watching the yankees game. my girlfriend said "hey why are you watching my team". then to make things worse, michael kay of the yes network announces that the mets coughed up 5 runs in the fifth in that nasily voice of his.
The NL is nuts right now...well said Nick.
As a phillies fan I fully expect the team to not make the playoffs but that's not to say this hasn't be the best season in the last 15. With the pitching staff ravaged by injuries I (like the rest of philly) gave up on this team because none of the past teams have showed any heart. Well I was wrong. Rollins, Utley, Howard, Rowand, Wyrth, Victorino, and even Burell have just come alive and played with such a desire to win that I don't even care if they make the playoffs. It has been such a treat to watch important baseball this late in the season that anything extra is just gravy.
I wish someone would pull a Tonya Harding on Burrell.
And I say that with the upmost respect.

Two months ago every single person in Philly wanted to kick burrell's ass. He sucked until mid july. Then he just got awesome. It's good of us because he now has HUGE trade value.
With that said- he does SLAY the mets.
How's Billy Wagner treatin' you?
