    Wow that sucked.

In other news, hopefully I can score Rox tickets tomorrow morning.

Also, some baseball trivia for you:

How can a team get 6 hits in an inning and not score?

Six singles in a row: first three load the bases and on the last three the runner at second passes the runner at third before the runner at third reaches home?

when you said this during the discussion about the mets collapse, "the Biggest meltdown in baseball history is, and always will be, the Yankees losing to the Sox in the 2004 ALCS. Get your shit together, Tammy Faye," It actually made me chuckle. You were SO quick to jump on the yankees at any chance that you really take a LOT of credit away from the red sox here. One team got hot in a postseason series and another team went cold. Happens all the time, just never before to that extent. The mets lost a 7 game lead over 17 games.....playing shitty teams......when the fuck does that EVER happen?
Please...YOUR TEAM choked (or at least, one of your teams). THEY CHOKED. THEY SUCKED. Your all world reliever couldnt shut down the series in game 4 (Dave FUCKING Roberts)-much like he blew it in Arizona 2 years earlier. Your 25 million dollar third baseman- one of many 15M+ players on that team- couldnt get a hit and even tried playing dirty and sucked at that too. The first two Sox wins...at Fenway...are somewhat tolerable. But to lose games 6 and 7 in Yankee Stadium...Mystique and whatever the fuck loses all its credibility. Just like Yankee fans who "just like the game of baseball" and root for the cubs cause they "were on TV during the day when I was growing up" and the Mets cause they play in NY. Pick a team.

Ahh... deleted the post because I was going to add a video.

But yeah, I said it sucked watching one of the Mets' greatest pitching performances one day followed by one of the worst. And something about the Rockies going against the 2007 Cy Young winner. I probably looked and sounded like a goofy bastard.

Upside - I got tickets for tonight.
Downside - I got the last set of tickets. After I left the line, they announced the would begin selling suite seats for $40.

believe me. 1010 people were much worse than that.

I'm normally not one for media bias, but I can't help thinking about how many smart people they must have gone through to find those three morons.

FYI Red Sox fans - Mike Francesca of WFAN said "there's no way the Red Sox lose to Anaheim". As you may or may not know, he is the kiss of death and the opposite of whatever he loves comes true. You are warned. Anaheim in 4.

Just like last year eh with the Cards? No way the NL wins last year right? AL is totally going to spank the Cards....uhhh, not so much. While I think the AL should win this year it's far from a garunteed victory.

I guess I should have figured that as soon as I established myself in this thread, I would have multiple massholes all over me....haha.. massholes ganging up on a die-hard yankee fan, nah, shouldn't have seen that one coming......
according to these guys, it's absolutely impossible to have a favorite team and still root for other teams or players in situations that have no effect on your team.
seems like a boring way to be a baseball fan to me.

I didn't plan on going to the Rockies' final regular season game on Sunday, but a friend called in the morning and said he had an extra ticket, behind the foul pole, but shit, at least we were there:

It was a great day for a game, and it was cool to see the Roxs play a game in Sept. that actually counted for something. People were more fired up then the crowd at the last game of the Rox/Yanks series earlier this summer. I didn't put a lot of effort into shooting photos, I'd rather watch the game, but I did manage snap a few shots with a little Linux p&s.
Fuentes comes in with the game tied 1-1 in the 7th- no pressure dude, it's only the season:

    Frustration builds:

Eventually it was like the foul pole wasn't even there, yeah right:

I think this is Quintin playing Hawpe's double in the 8th:

Hey Pete, how's that "merger" with Molson working out for you?

Arizona made it interesting in the 9th:

But the Rockies held on to win:

Savoring the moment- the game was over but no one wanted to go home:

The Rockies have a tradition of going around and handing out stuff the crowd after the last regular season game. I think they enjoyed it a little bit more this year:

Nice shit eating grin for Tulowitzski:

Sometimes the good guys do win:

    Message from the Mets

    Dear Mets Fan:

All of us at the Mets are bitterly disappointed in failing to achieve our collective goal of building upon last year's success. (Yeah, that's one way to put it.)We did not meet our organization's expectations -- or yours.(Because, here at the mets, we big believers in understatements.) Everyone at Shea feels the same range of emotions as you (Even the ones without the $20million paychecks?) -- our loyal fans (Even the ones who can do nothing but scream "THE METS SUCK!" right now)-- and we know we have let you down. (Lovin' the understatements) We wanted to thank you for your record-breaking support of our team this year.(AKA - The fans got reamed, but that's ok - the corporate sponsors already buying skyboxes at citi park will lovingly support us til the end of time.)

Equally important, Ownership will continue its commitment in providing the resources necessary to field a championship team. (Resources? Is that the problem? Inadequate resources?) Omar (Wait, are we on first name relations with Omar Minaya? Or did you just mean Omar the janitor, who pulled the short straw and gets to make excuses to Wilpon?) will be meeting with Ownership shortly (just as soon as he's finished cleaning the bathroom) to present his plan (redirect some of our bathrrom cleaning resources to championship team resources) on addressing our shortcomings (which ones? all of them? it'll take a while..) so that we can achieve our goal of winning championships (don't count on it) in 2008 and beyond. (maybe we'll win an NLCS in 2074)

You deserve better results. (Yeah, but we're mets fans. We'll be happy with a free hot dog. and maybe a new stadium named after william shea, not after some shmuck company)

Many thanks again for your record-breaking support. (yes, we provided all the boos you needed to gain the biggest collapse in baseball history.)
