They jumped from the academic building, Norris. Its a pretty good drop from the second floor, but the landing is on grass/mulch.

29 souls. Oh my God. Seems like when these random shootings go down, it's always reported that something stopped the gunman from killing more. They have hundreds of rounds but they are either pinned down by cops or their weapon jams or something stops them. Obviously that didn't happen this time. Prayers for all.

I can't understand how anyone can see 22 students in bodybags and think a call for gun control is "politicizing" anything.

40-some people were shot. With a gun.

...let me guess: the gun didn't kill those people, a person killed those people, is that it?!

Compare the number of gun deaths in the US per capita with the number of gun deaths per capita of any other country. You really think there's not a problem with guns in the US?

I don't understand the benefits to this "freedom"/right to have a gun, but I'm willing to listen to that side of the story if someone can fill me in on why Americans think it is so important.

Please create a new thread to discuss this. This one shouldn't turn into a flame war.

What you dipshits don't get is that these motherfuckers are going to get theire hands on a gun no matter how hard you make it to "legally" posess one. That's all I've got to say for now, this thread isn't the place for this debate.

What's this thread about then - the total number of people shot?
And no one is flaming anyone.
    I don't get your point.

[EDIT] OK, made a thread as you suggested. I see it is turning into a flame war. [/EDIT]

For you and Kya, now is not the time to argue legal gun ownership. Let this tragedy unfold and then you can bring up your petty political arguments. At this point in time there are a lot of suffering people that are dealing with the uncertainity of lost or injured friends and family. Your gun control arguments may be legitimate, just not right now.

Edited because this isn't the time to argue about gun control. I just couldn't help saying something though.

So sorry to hear about this. I'm glad to hear that it sounds like your freinds are all right SE Maggot. I really hope the reported numbers of dead have been inflated.

Those families that just lost a kid just launching into the best years of their youth are probably not even finding a way to speak yet, let alone think of 'gun control'. +++vibes+++
