    WASHINGTON, April 16 (Reuters) - At least 20 people, including the suspected gunman, were killed in a shooting rampage at Virginia Tech university on Monday, police and university officials said.
    It was one of the worst shootings on a university campus in the United States since Charles Whitman went to top of the tower in the middle of the University of Texas campus in Austin, Texas, on Aug. 1, 1966, and opened fire on people 27 stories below. He killed 15 people, including his mother and wife the night before, and wounded 31 others.

    Wow. 22 people. That is so horrible. I called my sister-in-law. She is locked down in a building nearby and wasn't aware of how severe it was. I'm really glad she is ok.

    Just got word from a friend of mine, who was in classroom next door to shooting- 2nd floor of Norris, they jumped out the windows as soon as the shooting started.

    Norris is Mining and Minerals Engineering and Engineering Science and Mechanics

    Edit: They also have classes for other engineering disciplines there, but those are the main ones. I've had a couple classes in there and I am an Aerospace/Ocean Engineering major, so its hard to say what class it was.
