Damn radio that controls the camera mount was acting on it's own, so it was not usable. I did get some basic footage that I will post tomorrow or the next day.

Today proved that it will take me several more months to get dialed. Both in flying and all the electronic stuff.

    In due time.

I couldn't figure out how to ride until you guys left anyway, so it's all good. Good to see everyone up there and cool seeing the heli fly!

Wow. That's pretty cool. Talk about an expensive project! Good luck on debugging it. Sounds very complicated...lots of variables.

    Peanut Gallery TR

So I admit, I am a helicam ship groupie. I rushed home, grabbed the dog and the camera, and flew up to I-Street to watch it fly (watching guys jump bikes farther than I'd ever even dream of was also cool, by the way).
    A few pics from tonight
    Trackhead and his ship:

The heli is very cool to watch fly, and I like the pink styling:

    Heli and biker:

Very cool stuff. I am glad Mrs. Trackhead is very understanding, because I can't wait to see what you can do with this baby in the future.

Gawd damn! I look like a typical RC geek now. Looks like I have a big ol' beer belly. I just might, but I think tomorrow morning will take care of that.

Particle, are you in Columbus, or SLC?
    Or Both?

Isn't your wife doing a residency, or something? I am confused!

Not at I-street proper, just simple stuff for my inferior flying skills.

Frame grab of Long Duck Dong slutting, and risking life and limb for the flying machete.

I want to see the film of Long Duck Dong. I'm pretty sure there was air under one of his tires at some point.

Damn that entire peanut gallery was maggots?? Crazy. I saw you guys hitting the XC-follow cam, LDD looked like he had rocket boosters on his feet - don't think I've ever seen a bike go uphill that fast!

JoshP - your heli and biker shot is me.

W - I'm in both places at once I'm in SLC through next week, then I'm going to be about 80% of my time in Columbus, but still back in SLC for around a week each month. Will probably leave a bike in SLC for playtime

Hey, at least you weren't sessioning a jump with a twelve year old who had a department store bike. (When he fell I gave him a noogie and kicked dirt in his face, that was fun.)

Short, low rez, 6.5mb, windows media, 2 minutes.

Still a little wobble in the camera mount at times. No cameraman cause my system isn't dialed yet, so tracking subjects was a guessing situation. Repetitive riding by Long Duck Dong, thanks, I need practice tracking. Haven't ever tracked anyone until yesterday.

Nice! That thing has some awesome potential. I'm impressed by how steady/little vibration there is in the shots...

There is vibe at times, you just can see it with the low rez. I need a gyro on the cam mount to get more of that out.

Long, slow process, but should be dialed in by the end of the summer.
