hit the snooze a couple more times than usual this morning after frizzo's vodka concoctions. haha, wasn't super drunk, but felt a little woosy when i woke up. ...
anyway....got to the GW chair at 9:30am. wanted first chair, but it's ok i'll live...
did laps through hidden canyon and it RULED. i think i was like the 3rd person in there at 9:40 or whatever it was. had to set most of the traverses and looked like not too many people were following. sweet.
at one point i shared a chair up with a guy named Bob who turns out is a patrol guy who has been there since 1982. (oh yeah, and FLykkdog, he's from your home state, moved here and never left....) anyway, so he had partied hard last night and was on his way up for his first run. so he came through hidden with me and then we ended up skiing the rest of the day together. even the stuff in bounds was good today. also, I finally hiked up claytons to ski off the back side of it getting fresh turns, where we then had to hike back up to the saddle and then a little more hiking up tenfourtwenty for another sweet untracked run. Bob showed me some of his stashes and then even though my legs were starting to scream i decided we needed to hike pioneer too since it was the last day and the snow was probly killer. so we did that and it ruled too. not completely untracked, but got fresh turns at the top and through all the trees near the bottom. we took one more run off crest and Bob wanted to get last chair on Majestic since it's going to be gone after today. he ended up with third to last chair and i had second to last chair and we skiied even more untracked lines even off majestic.
KILLER DAY. it was one of those days where i felt like i was just on it and skiing really well and not getting tired, (well, untill the end of the first two hikes) and we hit untracked lines ALL over the place....AND i FINALLY got to ski my new W105s in the POW POW. AND THEY WERE GOOOOOOOOD. where i've said before, i wish they were a little longer....now that i've skiied them in pow....they ski longer than 170...it was awesome, i never really felt like they were too short and they float like nobody's buisness.
such an awesome way to close out the season at Brighton. (oh yeah, and i was suppose to work today!? i was the first one there...and it was snowing.... pfffft....work...pffft....)
edit: forgot to mention.....driving up i saw a few cars driving down with what looked like over a foot of snow on their roofs already..... looked like at least a foot at the base when i got there and it continued to snow most of the day....and skiing wise it was nearly knee deep in alot of spots.![]()
