130mm rear wheel spacing and room for 700c tires. vs 135 and 26"
not sure on the angles
You will most likely ride a smaller sized cross frame than road frame. I think this is due to the higher bottom bracket on a cross frame, but I'm not completely sure about that.
My road frame is a 58 and my cross frame is a 54, both from the same manufacturer. They "feel" very similar in size.
okay, thanks

If you want one cheap, one of my co-workers has a cyclocross frame he tries to sell me just about every day...
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow, what a Ride!"
What size and type AG?
I only ride what is technically a cyclo-cross bike. I love it. Comfortable position, larger tires, good brakes.....and I put knobbies on for spring riding (like now with gravel everywhere). I dont try to be super fast on a road bike, so it just works best!
And mixed rides.....part road part fireroad and suck......rule.

Cross bikes are slacker in the head tube and in some cases slacker in the seat tube. BB shels are a bit higer and the wheel base is a tad longer. You will find that many frames have a longer top tube for their size when compared to the road equivilent. SOOOO to answer your question the are a great hybrid of both mountain and road geometry.

I have a Kelly Knobby cross bike, but I'm riding the same frame size as my road bike. I don't use it for cyclocross events, just for tooling around on. The angles feel a bit more slack than on my road bike, but it certainly doesn't feel sluggish -- closest thing I can describe it as is like a current 700c touring bike vs. a road bike.
I have a Rhygin cross bike with 135mm spacing. Kind of cool, but kind of a PITA, as ready-built road wheels don't officially fit.
I did have a Raleigh Team cross frame for a while that had 132.5 spacing. This was actually a pretty cool thing.
