More thoughts and prayers Doug. Sometimes it can be easier to open up to someone on the peripheral of your life, rather than those directly involved in it. This place can really provide that and I’ll extend the offer as well. It can be tough to ask for help, but I know the folks that have stepped forward do not judge you for it. Stay strong.

If someone can post up the obit., it would be much appreciated, though I am not sure I can handle it emotionally, this whole event have me so saddened. I can't even begin to imagine how hard this is on Doug. Be strong Mang.

I'm so glad you are with the parents now and not alone. And with the dog - they are such support and give such love in awful times.

Haven't been on the board much lately so didn't know about the funeral until a few minutes ago - I'm so sorry to not be there for you but am there in spirit!

Let us know what we can do to help.

    Thoughts are with you.

    TR Brittney's Funeral

My thoughts were heavy. Many tears for someone I never met. Brit sounds like an amazing person. Doug you were lucky to be her soulmate. Thanks to all who spoke sheading light on Brit, from caving, to jeep safaris, to her work ethic, to writing, to BC riding. Everything showcasing what an amazing person Brittney was. Buzz thanks for your comments. I am so touched by everything this community has done for Doug.

Britt was obviously well loved. I don't think there was an empty seat. The ceremony was well put together, flanked by beautiful bouquets. I learned a lot about the woman I had a short friendship with through the slide show mentioned above by Prindle 16. One of Britt's friends played an amazing bagpipes solo. She was truly a very special person and will be missed by all that knew her.

I said my last goodbye yesterday afternoon to Britt. She truely was an amazing person and will be sorely missed. It really hit me hard during the slideshow when I was 3 pictures of us out in the snow, doing what we love.
I choose to stand up and speak briefly as her sister mentioned her enjoyment of the Teton Gravity Research message board and simply wanted to share what this amazing community has done for Doug and Britt and that my last memories of her are standing at the car at the Bird after a fun day of riding, enjoying a beer. That is the last time I saw Britt.

Doug, you should how strong you are yesterday and I was honored to hear you speak as well. Stay strong.

    Goodbye Brittany.

Went and sat in the back to lend what emotional support my presence might make.
All I can say is for somebody I have never met, I have seldom been as emotionally moved as I was yesterday.
    Stay strong Doug!
Wish I could write more about the beauty and sadness of the occasion but I dont think I can put my emotions into words that will do them justice.

"Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play and pray in, where Nature may heal and cheer and give strength to body and soul alike."

"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you and the storms their energy, while care will drop off like autumn leaves."

    John Muir

These are two quotes I constantly go to in times of need, they are the next best thing to being in the mountains, and feeling it's healing powers. I know Brit's soul is at peace there, and I hope Doug can feel it there as well.

Lemme take a wild guess here - right now you're masturbating onto one of your mother's old bras while reading the responses to your post, right??

Whatever floats your boat - I hope the little bit of attention you get here gives some sense of purpose to your pathetic, meaningless exsistence.
