    NSR: PS3 Camp-out?

I know this sounds totally lame , but I'm going to be camping out to get the new PS3 to resell it. I did it with the Xbox and it was the easiest $900 I ever made. I was wondering if anyone else was doing it in the bay area and wanted to do it together, its always better to go in a group. I know, I'm lame, but the prospect of an easy 1k+ is nice.

Dude, I'd fly out, and camp in line with you if I could flip about 10 of them. Is that possible? When's the release date?

You're only going to be able to buy one of them, theres going to be around 20 per store it looks like. They come out on friday but I'm going to start camping on thursday afternoon probably.

I am contemplating a sidewalk nerd campout as well...probably to sell for some extra cash. I'd be game to sit with someone. It looks like 10-20 units per store is going to be the allocation.

What/where were you thinking? I'm thinking Sears/Sony Style (Valley Fair or maybe Stanford) /Kmart/Target as my top choices. Best Buy will be crowded early, so I think that's a no go. I really don't want to spend all night to do this but whatever, its always fun to do...

It may be raining too, so it may be wise to choose a covered spot.

Any SLC mags up for a campout? The average price on ebay seems to be $1300-1600 or so. That's $700-1000 profit. For one night of camping. Bueller?

And that's now, I guarantee you prices will be 2k plus this weekend after they are actually in people's hands. I made the mistake of selling my xbox 360 the day i got it only to watch prices go up another 3-500 dollars after about 3 days after launch.

Dang... I didnt realize the profit was that big on these things. About what time do you need to set up shop in front of the stores?

Shit...I could be down. Then I don't really need to stay the additional 2 weeks here at work. This would easily tie me over. Is it this Thursday?

    PM me sean.

McDirt, I don't know when I'm going to start camping but it'll definitely be thursday. The profit margin is on these things.

I think I'm going to go around to the local stores tomorrow and play detective. I think early Thursday morning sounds good. I camped out 30+ hours in 15 degree weather at snowshoe a few years ago to get a free season pass. If I can do that, I can definitely swing this.

When stores open up on friday morning. You may be a little too late with your class on thursday. Is it important? Go to class or make a ton of money with very little effort.......

I'm going to check out some stores tomorrow to figure out which one is the best bet. I'm thinking target or circuit city in Sandy. I'll also check and see if Wal-mart will have them.

Fuck, I kind of want to camp out. Starting Thursday early afternoon is worth a thousand dollars and two guaranteed air-travel ski trips... I guess I can study for my Friday morning chem quiz while I'm waiting lol.

Go to the store and ask for the manager. Talk to as high up a person as you can and find out all you can about how they are going to handle campers and such.
