    hey JH mags --

any mags have a lead on either:

    - good BLM (free, no reservation) camping around jackson,
    (Or)
    - a couch or yard we can crash Thursday night to Friday morning

stbmrstgapp and I want to hike the Teton crest this weekend and we need to be at the permit office by 6am Friday. Hoping to not have to leave Utah at 2am

Will bring coffee and goodies and stoke

Dollar Lake fire in Green River Lakes looks bad and blowing up fast. Was out there last month for a mini off trail that got scaled back. So much deadfall and dead standing spruce and pine from the various bugs. We had a storm one night and our path back down the drainage was fucked so we aborted our route which involved an off trail drainage that was sure to be choked.

I can't even tell you how.sketched we were camping in the trees in safest spot we could find, watching a late evening microburst roar up the valley a quarter mile away downing dead trees like a lawn mower.

I fear this fire is going to go big unless something changes with the weather. I hope not.

I see on FB you can see it loud and clear from the Tetons.

Anyway, even as scaled back as it was a fantastic sleeper of a trip. Hate to see this area go up like a bomb.

I'm seeing now there is a Sunday night weather pattern shift.

Fingers crossed things get cooled down.

We did a last tram that day and then happened to see that spectacle.
Yeah, didn't you post that here originally?

Did they compensate you for using the vid? Idk how all that works. If it's posted on YouTube or whatever is it free game for anyone to use?

Green river Lake, that's a superbly special spot.

World class golden leaves in the Fall.

Forecast is serious rain for most of next week. Fingers crossed is right.

Apparently we need this exact same story told to us 3-4 times a year

The Dollar Lake fire is scary. Latest satellite hot spots I just checked have it making a run for the campground and the lodge. Would hate to see that lodge go up. Two christmases ago I was able to still drive out to the lake and skated the whole lower green with a tiny skiff of snow on it. Was a pretty incredible experience. Was also back there camping a few weekends ago in the campgroundI'm not at my cabin now but it'd be right off my back deck over the gros ventre range. Those dead standing timber stands are pretty sketch uglymoney!

Theres an ad in the NaG selling a local 4 digit license plate # for sale for $5000.
Never seen that before and not even sure if its legal. I know that to pass a family plate down, one must go in person to have that noted with the plate.

In other news, local mags who can login, maybe throw a note in here so we know who's still around...

    ZZZ! Excellent.

That's odd, or at least different from me,(crosses fingers).
Once I got a new password, I signed in and it keeps me logged in and posting permanently, just as before.

I hadn't heard of Snapt's scenario yet. So close, yet...

I can log on, but I'm in California. Our house in JH has been getting a new roof for much of the summer.

They probably got the video from that ER Doc they reference in the beginning of the article. We have 2 good friends on TCSAR who we sent to video to and I think it dispersed from there. I don’t want to be associated with that dipshit move so I am fine having no credit [emoji38]

They say the rains this week will not be enough to penetrate the canopy enough to cool the fire down, unfortunately. And then sunny/dry returning for the weekend. Although slightly cooler overall.
I share the same concerns about that area and the deadfall [emoji30] We love it there too

We saw what was probably the same moose. Comes out at dark. For us it was a little later than this so more of a dark blob. Quite a place to have an evening glass of wine

I'll probably be out this fall to fish Flat Creek and then back in the winter again for another week or two skiing
