Exactly right. Its almost like the easier line is actually scarier.
That straight shot in is all balls to the wall but the traverse across that steep side slope is frightening to say the least.
Catching Once when its being skied regularly, on a deep day, is a feather in the cap.
Praying the 18" doesnt slide and trying to see the fall line without hitting the wall or maching out and not prepping for the transition.
Stood at the bottom one time heading over to NoName via the low traverse and saw a dude get stuffed trying to straightline the bottom 3rd.
He couldnt see shit and went over the bars and augured in right in front of us... Always a wild scene south of the vill.

6 stars. Oh fuck right the fuck off you fucking fucks.
So is this a typo or am I not comprehending exactly. They headed for Four Shadows, dropped into Central by accident and didn't realize until they were too deep? That seems unpossible to me ... especially someone who actually knows Cody and skis/works at the Village.

Yeah, not sure how you would walk past Four Shadows and then get into Central, (and then question where the hell you were).
Also, I don’t remember Doug getting fired for skiing central. I thought it was for the line above Cirque.
Well maybe I'm the faggot America

Yeah, I think he was caught skiing Toilet Bowl...if I remember the name correctly. That's the line between Tower 3 and Paintbrush
Well I wasted 5 minutes trying to post an old pic of me doing a spread eagle off the rock at the bottom of toilet bowl.

Yeah, thats right. TB is at the bottom. Wtf is that line called! It's above TB. No Name? I think I poached it once. That and Alta zero were two sketchy of the many poaches back in the day.
I'm confused on where Mushroom and TB are...can't remember.

Fucking Schoolers.
Yeah, theres a ton wrong with the article. As a professional writer, this is meh and using some poetic license to boot. Looks like she had her dins set for NoShadows. Walking past 4S and getting into Central is baloney or she hasn't been up there and doesnt know her way around. Her decription of her surroundings once in makes no sense. These 2 look drastically different from the top in Pucker factors.
She didnt check speed thru upper crux and came out fast thru the 2nd point it thru crux, then going too fast to crank a HAAARD right to the wall and back. Dropped the first ski in soft snow going too fast. Mightve been manky in late day condish... cartwheeling to the drop and into the wall was outstanding. Faceplant to slider for another cartwheel.
Love the dialogue - ooh, dont fall. They fell...
Correct, he didnt.
Correct again, now known as Ambassador ridge. Its the first right at the top of the headwall hike with the cirque below and points further, actually above the Pair a Chutes. That minor ridgeline holds snow as it turns a slight corner and out onto the headwall face. Perfect pitch, windloads and sparse trees for an epic 50 turns on a pow day.
Doug said he was inbounds, troller Dr. No said he was not. Got him nixed for years. Dr. No suffers in Pierres hole these days I hear. Doug is Legend.
Toilet bowl is from the runout of T3 to the far side of Lower paintbrush thru the rocks. I'm sure there's a name for those...
That closed area between T3 and upper PB is called Unskiable chute. It dumps a fuckton of snow down beside the cave and into TB when skied. Which is rarely and typically after closing in Spring.
The big run used to be CC,EC,PB,TB,GV. Race the tram on that one.
Thanks fer trying. That rock has seen a ton of launches , some spectacular but mostly carnage...
To the Mushroom chutes...If you ski down under Thunder chair a hundred yards and turn left into the trees, it drops off fairly precipitously all of a sudden. I saw a friend of a friend go banging thru those trees only to cartwheel through the steep, rocky mushies. Hes a semi famous UFC guy now but back then he was just a tough Tacoma kook.
Dr. No is my neighbor these days. I see his car parked at one the JHAF guys’ house around the corner from us. I imagine they sit and reminisce about the old days.

I thought maybe youd mentioned that before, hmm.
They may well be chummy but he didnt leave with many friends either professionally or personally. Thats 30 years ago so who knows?
Oh, I def knew it was you. Obvi Skijunky too. Isnt JS the shake a day proprieter? Saw him with a full entourage of gamblers at the top of the gondy on day after closing ski day.
I had not noticed that. [emoji38]
That lady got so many things wrong.
I won’t worry about correcting it though because I don’t want any association with dipshits like that [emoji39]
Yes JS - he does it mostly at the corbet’s last tram apres.
On the last tram of the season he threw all the money into the air in the tram. I made like 2 dollars.
