Sports Loft did my Sidas footbeds a few years ago and I have no qualms with them. In fact I put them in my golf shoes in the offseason.

I’ve had both Lifthouse and Sports Loft fit me including footbeds. Was happy with both tho Lifthouse was less expensive.

Lifthouse can suck it. My wife went in to get fitted and they wanted to charge her $50 up front to start trying stuff on. FOH

Sports loft charges $85 to give you a fit consultation. Fucking ridiculous.

I live in Salt Lake but go to Matt Schiller, Park City Boot Room. Hands down the best IMO. Does all the Racers up there. Dunno what he charges for footbeds, he's not cheap but worth every penny. He gets me better results in fewer hours and visits. Appointment only and he's always booked but like I said, worth it.

Brent and the other Dude (I forget his name) at Park City Ski boot also do good work.

I feel like since OC closed Inkline the PC guys are really the best option.

My wife bought boots at the Lifthouse recently and there was no up front charge. Went back four or five times (she is crazy picky) to tweek the fit. She did not pay for any of the work and they were great about accommodating her, always very pleasant even when they were busy.

For a non-powday, it was such a pleasure to ski Sillytude today. Soft well layed out bumps. Chalky steep fast groomers. No one on the hill. I'd say that every 4th powder horn chair had a skier or two on it. Milk Run I very rocky in spots. I'll wait for another foot or two before hitting that gate.

BTW, if anyone is looking for super fast non carbon wax, pick up a bar of Holmenkol Syntec FF21 wax. It's the quickest wax that I've ever ironed onto my skis.

Not boot or sole related, but I won’t be going back to Lifthouse for anything. They remounted a binding (2nd) on a set of skis, stripped out a hole, used a helicoil. I found it this year (1 year later) as the screw wouldn’t hold. They never told me originally. Had to remount again which at this point I’m using the 3d jig and just did it myself

Well, red snake braved, parking secured. System working! Skiing around on a MC pass, maybe see you kooks at snowbird today. Mango jacket, black dakine pack. Pink Corvus skis. Black pants. Oldish. Show a newbie around. Generally, I can ‘hang’. At least til noon. T

Who knew Deer Valet had the best smoke shack in the Wasatch?

Apparently we look like we know where we’re going.

Yesterday the Hugehairdog found a new smoke shack. He was eager to show it to us today. We were gathered above the Carbonate gate waiting for a member of our party when some guy rolls up and waits by us. We gather our troops and head out the convoluted way to the shack. The dude follows us, we get there and I think he’s kinda surprised we were stopping there.

“We’re smoking pot, you’re more than welcome to join us.”

We burned and headed down to Gad2, invited him to hang with us. It wasn’t till we were at the next lift when we realized it was Hobietony.

It was another stellar day in the Wasatch, no new snow meant the crowds were non existent. Walk on lifts and a straight shot onto the tram. I’ll take carveable groomers over powder crowds any day.

Bob, I seem to have an eye for the right crowd! I figured whether ski lines or a smoke shack, I was with my group. Sorry to miss you in the lot after, and thanks for the company, great group of father/son rippers. T

Ha...sounds about right. I've had a similar HobieTony encounter. And to be truthful, that strategy of kinda scanning the scene mountain wide and trying to figure out who knows what generally works worldwide.

1st week of the season coming up next week 2/1- 2/6. Got a 'Bird pass this year with my daughter hitchhiking since she is 13.
This trip is for me, she gets to go 3/15.

How is Snowbird right now? Never opposed to fast groomers. Gonna be working out the kinks on a pair of 188 Rossi Soul 7's that my buddy scored for me from a neighbor.
Not sure if my legs are ready for that amount of Ptex under me, but should be fun.

If any locals are out mid week, look for me. I got change for a nickel on the back of my helmet.

Alta skied great today. Catherine’s was empty until 10 and a lot of fun today …knee-high untouched pow in the castle. Greeley has seen a lot of skiers lately but is still skiing really nice. I would imagine that similar things can be said about parts of Snowbird. Groomers were zooming.

Still a bit low tide but everything is open. Good chance you'll leave with a little less ptex under you. Sunday was pretty good and it looks like another refresh is coming this weekend so I would guess that 2/1-2/6 will be good skiing.

Couple rocks around (fine more than a couple) but some tender skiing can get you past most of them. The groomers are FAST today. I got a new max speed record, and skied ankle+ deep pow all on the same bluebird day, not bad at all.

My buddy skis just about every day up there. I am sure he knows where a few stashes are.
I get in Sat at 10 am, so we can do a few warm up laps that day too, since I have the pass.
Can't wait. Fast groomers are fine by me. Not in powder shape anyway.
