Other times, many hands make light work at the wind powered pow farm.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

I washed my car yesterday, so apologies for the rain.
The skiing was excellent up high though. It was dumping and the bowl was particularly good (although still pretty thin)

I rode the new Sublette for the first time today and I like the new route and direction but agree about the back padding being worse than the old chair and the tiny spacing between the back rest and the seat makes it tough to tuck your poles under your leg and hang them back.

Going to try to get a couple laps at end of day tomorrow and Christmas day before my pass blacks out. Holler

It was fun this afternoon, lots of untracked to be found. Still low tide-ish, lots of stuff just getting covered up, ski accordingly.

my dumb ass left my zipfits at home (ogden) and am supposed to be skiing in jackson tomorrow and 12/27.

Anyone have an extra pair of 26.5 liners (atomic hawx is boot but idk if that matters) of any kind they could let me borrow for those two days? Can do a contactless pickup tomorrow morning on the way to the village. I'll be coming from hoback junction. Merry christmas and i'm a dumb ass.

or a line on a rental shop/place that can hook it up?

thanks so much zzz that sounds like a pain in the ass and it's not like the conditions are all time. Going to wait here a little longer and worst comes to worst I'm sure a rental shop at the base could do something for me.

I have several different pair of 26.5s that you could borrow, but my Intuition power wraps aren't up for borrowing. I do have a spare pair of power tours, with a tongue. In Driggs if that helps.

    Hey NBABUCKS1,
I have a pair of 27 intuition power wrap plugs that you could have for a 6 pack of Melvin IPA. They have a lot of days on them, but could work out for you. They have zero foam underfoot and less foam in the toe area compared to a trad power wrap , so could possibly work out for you. You could re-cook them with a ski sock full of rice and a microwave. Let me know if that would work for you. We won't be on the hill till tomorrow afternoon free parking time.

    Ouch.
    You are a dumb ass.

That's pretty much directly cribbed from my bad ski dreams where I'm at the resort, in all my gear, but no boots.

I have extra 26.5s, but I'm not up there.
    Djongo will get you sorted.

Classic. Everyone talks about those nightmares where you’re naked in front of class.
My nightmares are missing gear. And yes it’s usually boots.
On the tram. Pow day. Get off the tram. I’m in street shoes. Wake up in a cold sweat.

Word up, A., thanks for the kick in the pants.

I got NBA dialed in with a 26 and 27 pow wrap. But I'm in FL. for the holidays so had to get honorary mag BennyT. to facilitate handoff.

Cuz, like, how hard is it to hook up a bro, right?

Lmao about the ski nightmares, it rings a bell here too. Been a while tho.

Me no thinky that's Pierre's flop drop. Dude landed on his head, yeah?

And typically poor planning for positioning of rescuers.

edit to add: my bad whyturn, I was looking too far out, missed the cliff up close. You righty.

A christmas miracle! Django has me sorted out. Thanks so much!

Last christmas first box had about 15 people, was pretty cool!

We had a pile of shit to come out to Bondurant but I didn't trust my dog to not chew up my zipfits, so i put them away the night before we left. And classic, it never made it back to the pile of shit to put in the car.

Also big thanks to salty for the kind offer! Welcome to the board!

Not quite as bad as NBABUCKS1, but my first trip to Targhee years ago started with a bootpack on top of Teton Pass. When I was getting set to put my skis on, I realized that I had only switched one set of sole blocks on my boots to fit my kingpins, and forgot to bring the other sole blocks on the trip. (I quickly stopped using the same boots for backcountry and resort) That was a really shitty feeling. I was just disgusted so I jammed the boot with the alpine soles up against the toe pins and stepped down on the heel. I was really surprised how solid it held and only had the ski come off twice with some very careful turns. The trip was saved for me by the friend I was staying with in Driggs who had a set of skis with Marker Barons on them that had the adjustable afd for alpine or backcountry rockered soles. It ended up being a great trip overall and a great example of how idiots like me can't get through life without good people looking out for me!

Buddy is coming to town later this winter and asked me about OnX Backcountry on the pass, I only use the hunt version. Anyone have any feedback on it specific to the pass I can send along? Thanks, good to be back in the hood.

i got a chance to ask him about the jump at a ski camp he was teaching many years back... his thought was, a jump that high can't be landed safely on your legs... it was more like landing on an airbag from a skyscraper, and landing on his back was the plan. +he beefed up his pack for protection from a potential extreme impact.

    ps> merry christmas to ya'll !
