    The last 3 to 8 years have been way more fucked up than the prior 45+. Before that, we were magically lucky that we made it under the radar for so long.

    I blame Forbes, IKon, Covid and some of the money generators hired since Mommy Mouse took over.
    Yes the TGR flagship has a lot going for it. At least you have some local management, and money stays local. Even if it’s just into owners pockets.

    At least your not run by the jackasses that are in PC right now. Man talk about mistake after mistake over there.

    We get a lot of bumps in the road over in our neck of the woods too. Like right now we have a fur boot wearing hippy chick who probably has never used a shovel running the flagship of Alterra while trying to get people in KT Line to be more zen. At least they aren’t trying to make you mountain into northstar over there. We are just a cash machine for a Colorado Corp.

    Oh and if i remember correctly Deirdra Walsh who now runs PC. Used to run Northstar. And chick who runs squaw now also came from Northstar. God help us all.

    Management angst is a lifelong malady for all skiing locals.
    Same as in every ski town in the world.
    I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

    Nice! There’s some DJs spinning in other rooms there too I believe.

    That was some light stuff nuking down this afternoon, maybe lightest of the season? Tomorrow will be prime time. Git sum.

    First ride on the new Sublette today. Didn't think it was too bad without a pack. The heavy chairs definitely make a difference. Probably wasn't windy enough to shut the old lift down, but damn close, and the new chairs were barely swaying. It was trippy getting off of Thunder and seeing the Sublette chairs whizzing up like that.

    Always find the bumps that form at this time of year amusing.

    First day back on the hill after a holiday at sea level.

    Skied a coupla hours first thing and altho viz was fairly low, the skiff of overnight snow made it feel great on the firm. Took a lap or two off piste and was stoked how positive it felt. Small bumps but easy to plow through.

    Been snowing all day, but wee flakes so we'll see how they stack up.
    Telemetry now shows 5" fallen since closing today. Tomorrow looks shiny.

    Off piste has a firm but punchy base. The next foot or two is gonna be hero conditions for some laps methinks.

    Lotsa shrubs pushing thru down low but not long to disappear.

    Stoked you west slopers are getting the goods. Ski it up.

    Tiiiiitttttaaaaaaayyzzzzz!!!
    Welcome back, my friend.

    Fucking sweet. Head and eyes forward, hands in front. Charge!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Jesus did I get fucked this morning. Woke up to the cat trying to hack a hairball onto my pillow. Then raced to get to the vill as it was already 7am. Driving by 8, I hit standstill traffic before McD's. The Y intersection was locked up at a standstill. I pulled a u turn and called it.
    Dammit.
    Yesterday was kinda cold up high so I threw some blue wax on the new 114's last night. It was 33* this morning. Dang, I gotta get dialed.
    Was curious where you’ve been hangin’ out. Guess the answer is a dick deep, untracked slope.
    Very nice.
    I used my wiles to get 2 ganjalas ahead of the tourist guys behind me.
    Exit stage left, then jump ahead of the sitski guy; which held everyone a few minutes more as he unloaded up top...
    Launched to Thunder for a fucking brilliant run through thunder ridge trees into Thunder bumps proper. No one behind me on the chair for about 25 seats.
    Softer but firm leftovers from yesterday's 13" with another 6-10 on top. I'm not particularly a bump guy but I couldn't pass up the completely untracked palette of options beneath me.
    An easy sashay across the double fall line down the ridge through the trees, stop for a breather and into Thunder across that different double fall line across to skiers right for the leeward deposition line beside those trees.
    Cued up the old Tool on the minidisc and seamed together about 80 suhweeeet turns down into Amphitheater. Slow, steady, complete control in the front seat playing fore/aft all the way. It was a gotdam sublime run and well worth the wait.
