    Stoke kills...look it up

    Saw @Truckee Joe in the singles line at Gondi. Also, I saw all his OSU kids ...lol.

    Been one helluva a cycle.

    Turns with @Djongo Unchained have been a kick. Especially on the DOJE (day of jacket event).

    Overall, she's starting to ski like herself.

    P.s. the new subby chairs are so shallow, backs are super high and the sides are low ... I think it is actually scarier. Especially over all the rocks. Lol.

    JH 24-25 POW TOWN STOKEZONE

    I
    Noticed the high solid backs of the chairs while skiing Laramie Bowl Tuesday

    same as it ever was. That lift on a hard stop is/was scary as shit. One of the few where I almost always put a bar down.

    Locals opening up the OBwith first tracks of 24/25 in RS. Sir Vic's slide above the lines. It always cracks. Always.

    Mag getting the sweet slalom turns left, passed mag's kid in the center and local jhaf ripper opening up the radius on the right.

    That's a Disney adventure party right there.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    @TruckeeJoe - thanks for connecting, nice to hang out and catch up as well as bang around the hill. Super stoked you got the tits skiing and had a beauty of a closing day.
    Safe trip home.
    Nice to meet ya GK, thanks for finding us and taking laps with TJ. Nice HL boards, sharp.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    FYI - The Golden ticket dates were expanded a coupla days ago...

    1/2 price dailies with a season pass from anywhere now thru Christmas Day.
    Then again from Jan. 6 thru the 17th, and end of season from Mar. 17 thru April 13.

    It makes skiing JH way more viable.

    Oh no, it's different and not in a good way. Shorter seats front to back. High back makes hanging a pack on over tha back unpossible. Bar is reaaaaly close to you when down, which will be everyone now if it wasn't before.

    The casualness of the Couch is gone. This is more like a big city revolving door. Easy to manage but don't fuck up or the consequences may be real, and closer than before. Sublette is pack central.

    TJoe told the top lifty he was unimpressed. Lifty smiled. prolly heard that already.

    At least they got the maze orientation right. So far. They set it up today for 250 skiers even tho it was just the 20 of us.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    What I failed to mention prior, is that the mountain is skiing reaaally well. Soft snow everywhere, on and off piste, not too busy and today was stunning bluebird on carvy chalk to pow.
    Wow ! Who designs these things ?
    Sublette was already the most pack unfriendly lift
    on the mountain. Well I guess besides Teewinot.
    Hard to believe they could make it an even shorter seat.
    I always felt like I was going to launch getting on.
    Sweet ! And good on you for christening RS.
    From the looks of the tracks on the right, someone
    was going Mach speed and taking flight.
    They fucked up the couch....and Nightmare.
    Why can't we have billionaires that are actual skiers to make our ski lives better instead of making us shake ours heads in disbelief. First world problems!!
    To be fair, my initial impressions of Sublette are that it's really nice. New and super smooth. Easy on/off.
    It's just a shame they didn't use more common sense with the chair fit for skiers. We concluded yesterday that the 2 year old Thunder chairs were the same type as the originals. They shoulda gone with that style.
    The new chairs may be heavier but the high backs are gonna catch wind waaaay more than the old ones. Remains to be seen how they work in big wind.
    And with great relief, I can say that the tower does NOT impede Nightmare rock. It's closer to the in run but no problem.
    But you're not wrong Jackstraw, it would be a miracle for someone with big money and some real vision to make JH finally realize it's true potential.
    They just, don't, get it.
    Anyone been in the new Tram Dock bar/restaurant that replaced RPK3? It still needs some polishing (like bartenders who know how to pour beer), but I think it has some potential.
    Side note - My wife who used to work ticketing had to explain the RPK3 name to me, it was a lot cooler after that. My guess is a lot of people had no clue WTF it meant, which is a shame. But not a bigger shame than the restaurant itself.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Hope some mags got the goods in the bowl today. Haven't been up all week so don't know what the conditions are like.

    seems like a much more casual grab a beer bar - maybe food if you are hungry

    - whereas rpk3 seemed much more upscale, sit down etc, i'd never go in there.. I like the change.

    also what did it stand for?

    When you got the rpk3 from those in the know it was hard to sleep. Might as well get in the tram line early

    Yah from the marketing side, too much inside baseball.

    Edit.
    Rendezvous peak 3
    There were three levels of snow.
    RPK 3 was fasten your seatbelts. It’s gonna puke snow big time.

    As I recall: Rendezvous Peak overnight forecast
    RPK1 - 1-3"
    RPK2 - 3-6"
    RPK3 - 6"+

    RBowl doesn't look particuarly inviting to me, but the odds of it being soft and carvy are good...aaaaand the rocks and carnage potential are brutal. That scree face is sharp like volcanic rock, gnarly abrasions.

    Funny about the new, old, restaurant. I remodeled that whole thing alone except for the carpet, back in 1997. It was beat then.

    That dude hucking full tilt boogie coming outta Alta Zero in that new Sublette viddy? He was the carpet guy. We had fun that Fall. I compared aches and pains with him the other day. He's more broken than me. Reese!

    T'was a nice day for the old LPR's. They actually felt a bit worn out today. Mebbe time for the fresh pair to finally hit the silk. These have about 5-600 days on em.

    Digging the pics.
    Won’t be back until February.
    The new couch. Wow.
    Do you have to sidestep for the lower gate?
    ?

    Changes.

    PS. 6”+ was rpk3?
    Not doubting you. To me it was most often over a foot. But yeah there were a few rpk that didn’t pan out.

    PPS. LP old school. lol. Was just reminiscing about super nobis. Hah.

    ^^^^^^

    Nope, the upper terminal is only about 30' lower so no major loss of elevation, plus they graded it so it looks almost the same. Same skate to right, thru the bottom of RBowl to the lower RS gate.

    Haven't swung into Tensleep yet. But the 3 lines thru expert chutes were shite.

    Yeah RPK3 has serious implications. Then we always loved the RPK1's when they turned out to be RPK1foot overnight. Sleeper daze.

    Nada. Just caught an edge in very grabby snow and rolled over the bars.

    I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
    Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

    So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

    Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues
