Sounds like Belichick’s rap is come here, we’ll teach you how to be an NFL player. Seems like his downfall at NE was his drafting and talent evaluation. So can he teach them to be an NFL player if they don’t have the talent?

Huggins is a great basketball coach. A great basketball mind, and can motivate players to play the Hug way. Full court press, stellar defense, and an offense that just scores.

He has made many mistakes. God knows. Hopefully he has grown from the DUI s. the unacceptable comments, and other missteps, to be the best man he can be, and should definitely get a second, third, fourth or fifth chance.

LOL. I completely forgot about that. Yep, he was talking about my undergrad Alma Mater, Xavier.

I guess X owning University of Cincinnati in the Crosstown Shootout for so long still lives in ok Huggy Bear’s head rent free.

I can remember when he got his 1st sloppy DUI driving his school-issued Lexus after downing multiple bottles of red at his weekly coaches show at Montgomery Inn (when it was aired live on the same radio station he made that comment on and any drunken fan could have the open mic and ask Bob whatever was on their mind). Good stuff ha!

That reminds me, the Crosstown Shootout is this weekend, I’ll have to tune in and hope Bob is too.

(FWIW, those late 90s UC teams were awesome and they would have won a chip no doubt had Kenyon Martin not broken his leg in the CUSA tournament)

What's sad is that his contract at WVU included a personal driver, and he still somehow managed to get another DUI.

It shouldn't have even been that close, but Prime has a lot of haters that cost Hunter some votes. At least they got it right in the end.

A decent bowl game, a Heisman, and just being moderately relevant 2 years after a 1 win season? I'll take it.

Prime and his media relationships costing Hunter more votes than it gained him?Laughable.

Glad Jeanty plays for BSU so I can’t watch them in the first round of the playoffs.

Hunter is a fantastic athlete. But he’s neither the best WR nor corner. Jeanty is one TD from Barry fuckin Sanders!!!! I mean BARRY FUCKIN SANDERS.

If Hunter played for Missouri, Arizona or Tulane, he wouldn’t even be on the radar. He absolutely benefits from Prime. Are you kidding me?

Jeanty is a stud, but we've seen him before. Melvin Gordon in 2014, Ricky Williams in 1998 (11 games), Barry (11 games). And those dudes played in power conferences. One TD away from Barry wut? Jeanty is at 29 rushing and 1 receiving in 13 games, Barry had 37 rushing and 0 receiving in 11 games.

PFF grades for Hunter are 3rd overall at CB, 5th at WR. I think what he's done is rarer. "Wouldn't be on the radar" w/o Prime for a Top 5 player on both sides of the ball is a shit take. Definitely benefits from Prime, but absolutely would be in the conversation for what he has done this season on any FBS squad. If Prime tipped the scales to that degree, Shedeur wouldn't have finished 8th behind some guy from Army (lol).

If you like the #1 RB over the #3/#5 CB/WR, fine but at least try to make an honest argument.

#1 RB on #6 offense. #5 WR on #56 offense. #3 CB on #39 defense.

Hunter on Jeanty “it’s not like we haven’t seen a good running back that is good.”

Jeanty on Hunter “Kudos to Hunter. He’s balling for real. He’s doing stuff we ain’t seen nobody ever do.”

Maybe people wanted to see a college player who didn’t take the money, isn’t a diva, who actually is a game changer who put his team into the #3 seed, and is one of the best college running backs of all time win the award.

Apparently the media and Prime fans don’t think that way and it’s done.

Jeanty is the kind of kid who will use this to be better. My guess is if Hunter didn’t win, he would have cried and then him and Prime would have chirped to the media about some nonsense.

I like CU and what they’re doing. I don’t like the attitude but I guess when the money is involved, they need to have it.

The Heisman isn’t a contest of rarity. That’s the problem. To Conundrums point, CU has certainly turned their program around but they didn’t even make the championship in the Big 12. If Shadeur, Hunter and company were as good as CU fans think they are, you’d have a national championship to chirp about. Instead you have the Valtrex Alamo Bowl.

Again Hunter is a freak athlete and a phenomenal football player. But he’s not the best at his position(s) and he hasn’t elevated his team to anything above an average bowl game.

As a side note, someone with a sense of humor rewrote the Heisman qualification recently:

“The Heisman Memorial Trophy (/?ha?zm?n/ HYZE-m?n; also known simply as the Heisman Trophy) is awarded annually since 1935 to the top player who can bring in the most money for sports media.”

This right here is why your opinion shouldnt be taken seriously. Utterly wrong on these 3 accounts about Hunter. RE: taking the money- You do realize that Hunter, as a 5star out of high school, went to an HBCU and then went to Boulder instead of any of the bluechip schools? Jeanty wasnt even a fulltime starter until this year, he had little/no money to chase until this year. RE: Diva - You do realize that Hunter is known for being a homebody who doesnt party, and who is a coaches dream? RE: Game Changer - I am honestly not sure how you can argue Hunter is not a game changer on either side of the ball when he had 15 touchdowns this year (more than 1 per game) and was the defensive player of the year in college football. Really poor take, objectively.

Hunter benefitted from Deion, because Deion is the only coach in all of D1 who would have allowed and encouraged Hunter to play fulltime on both sides of the ball. At best, any other program would have started Hunter at CB, and then run special packages on offense for him at WR (just like bailey or woodson, or deion). No one would have allowed him to be a fulltime, every down starter on both sides. Without being a legit 2-way player, there is no way hunter wins the heisman.

If you want to argue that Jeanty should have won based on stats and the success of his team, that is totally legit. I think there is a really good argument there (though i think that a fair comparison to Barry Sanders' senior season would actually show a chasm between the two and that comparison needs to stop being made). It is incredibly ignorant to argue your points about hunter though.

recently read this take and lend myself to agree: if you put Jeanty on colorado, they are a playoff team with a first round bye. put Hunter on Boise st and they are a team fighting for bowl eligibility.

A great WR with a dogshit QB will put up better numbers than a great RB with a dogshit OL.

The BSU line deserves A LOT of credit for Jeanty's year (and BSUs great rushing attack in recent years). Shadeur Sanders deserves a lot of credit for targeting Hunter with good catchable balls.

If this was a skiing contest, Jeanty is the guy who who wins the FWT on the back on straightlines and big straight air stomps. Hunter is the guy who places 3rd in the FWT and 2nd at Xgames slopestyle. Who had the better year?

Really? You're going to cherry pick quotes to make Jeanty seem like he's got more class? How about Jeanty's quote that he "should've walked away with the Heisman"? Very classy to say that right after you didn't win. The "kudos to Hunter" said right after doesn't have the same ring when your first sound bite was sour grapes, does it?

I'm honestly stunned by some of the complaining in here. It's not like Hunter was a surprise winner or anything. And the idea that Jeanty would have turned CU into a playoff team with a bye? FFS, man, tell me you know nothing about CU without telling me you know nothing about CU.

have you watched a Boise st game this year? the o line has been plagued with injuries and the run blocking isn't exactly elite, hence 3/4 of Jeanty's yards coming after contact. they grade out better in pass pro.

danno, you ignorant slut. i mean jesus christ not only are you telling us that you know fuck all about how Colorado's season unfolded but also that you don't have a fucking clue how the CFP bracket works. so basically, if the buffs hadn't been broomstick raped by a 4-6 kansas team, they would've played in the big12 championship for a playoff bye. hell, even with the kansas loss, they were still in contention to play asu until byu beat houston in the final weekend. so yeah, a playoff berth and bye was very much within reach. they did all of this without a 100 yard rushing performance. their leading rusher had 400 yards on the fucking season. if you don't think having the best offensive weapon of the last decade would have pushed them over the edge, you are smokin dick respectfully. they could've had half of jeanty's production and still been a playoff team.
    swing your fucking sword.

Travis is not a diva. The dude is a pure footballer who is itchng to be on the field every play - and when he's not, he's coaching up his teammates. And after 130+ snaps, he spends 20+ minutes to get to the locker room cuz he signs every kids jersey, program, whatever on the way out. I work on the CU sidelines and have seen it firsthand for the last two seasons. Quality human.
People can debate the Heisman winner - happens every year. I think top Top 5 WR + Top 5 CB (being conservative) > #1 RB... but others differ.
But don't knock him as a person. He's tip top. (As is AJ from what I've seen.)
